If you knew Michael you would know he is just a kind natured man. I met him years ago when he was at TraVigne then when he went into TV Chef land he started a
lifestyle store in Berkeley on 4th street. We we were all invited and he was just a joy... Bourdain was in town and he was at the bookstore (now closed) doing
a reading and even he went is that guy too nice... I think the store did not do well and that is why he is back cooking but no one has a bad word about him and
the same with Hubert. Just a lovely man. I remembered when Fleur deLys closed after catching on fire and that reopening too.. Gavin Newsom was there with his
then g/f and first wife Kimberly looking hot and gay and she was a bitch... I always liked gavin but then I am prone to sex addicted drunks.

I didn't like that Joey or Zoy or whoever the fuck being so apologetic about being a vegan and acting like she's done something wrong.
If anything, meat eaters should be the ones being apologetic about killing lives and destroying the planet. But yeah, right, vegetarians in a world of animal killers/eaters are the 'abnormal' ones, just like non rapists in a world of full of rapists are 'abnormal.' Just fucking ridiculous. |

I agree with everything you said, Glams, except one . . . I was actually a Dale fan his season and I am not going to jump the gun until I see how the episode
plays out next week. The way they edit previews, you never know what is going on. So, I will wait and see. Of the cheftestants that were shown walking in,
Dale would have been my first choice to pick as a sous chef. I mean, seriously, BETTY? Why do they keep bringing that bitter old jealous hag back all the
time?
And re the gluten-intolerance. Yes, it is real, however, there are many, many people who like to self-diagnose and jump on the bandwagon when new ailments are "popular" and get a lot of press. I know from experience, because I have a very gullible grandmother and an asshole loser 50+ mooch of an uncle who lives off her and tells her what she needs to cook and what "ailments" the two of them have. Almost 10 years ago, they both suddenly became gluten intolerent, intermittently gluten intolerent, because they really only follow the restrictions when it is convenient. However, about 10 years ago when my grandmother started using brown rice pasta, I actually really loved the taste & texture of it. I'm not gluten intolerant, but now I always cook with Tinkyada brown rice pasta (the best brand), except for the couple times a year when I make my own fresh pasta. I eat quinoa, but I have never heard of or tried quinoa pasta. I might try it, but since I am such a fan of the brown rice pasta, I see no rush to get out and try it. I was surprised Michael didn't use brown rice pasta. At least he wouldn't have to separate the pasta strand-by-strand. I was worried for Anita. She really seemed to have given up last episode. I think the judges saved her, since she is the only woman left and normally she is leagues better than that fat Oprah cook. He should have been gone last week, so I'm glad he was booted this week instead of Anita. Hubert must win. Love his attitude and respect his experience and skill. |

I don't think Anita gave up. She was just tired. She mentioned she couldn't sleep after she won.

Things may not be what they seem. I remember seeing in the season preview Michael yelling at Betty(?) to walk faster, so maybe he was just being a giant jerk
that day. Then again, Betty was a hag.

That burger soup was an EPIC fail. It looked like yellow spit like the kind you cough up when you're sick.

OK, I know that the judges actually asked Art about the brittle that he prepared and if he really made it without butter (cuz how do you make that without
butter?) and he assured them he had not used any. Yet, his recipe on the Bravo site shows that he DID use butter. Why would they change the recipe just for the
site? Defeats the purpose of making a challenge and coming up with recipes that are vegan and all. Hmm, I guess it doesn't matter since he's gone, and
they hated the other stuff he made, but what's the deal with using dairy and claiming he didn't?

Hubert/Anita final 2, please. I'm over the boring Italian guy and the "heterosexual" Mexican food chef.

I don't think that Zooey ever specifically said that SHE is vegan and gluten intolerant and doesn't eat soy. Perhaps she is vegan, somebody else at the gathering is gluten-intolerant, and a third person
doesn't eat soy, so the show used all the restrictions to create a greater challenge. I loved it. The chefs had to get more creative, and [most of them]
came up with great solutions to a difficult task...

That's different though. You can spend your entire life not fucking a thing and be happy, but it's really difficult to eat right and provide yourself with the right nutrients when you're vegan. It feels unnatural! |
