And speaking of the Masches (yeah, I know we weren't), is anyone still watching their show? I think I only saw the first three and got bored with them.

And now there are just four? Nope, not enough now to get a tv show/freebies. Must have at least six! Or eight.

It always seemed to me that living with a woman who would turn every waking second of my life into a total misery would just not fit my idea of a wife. It's not just that she is a nag, but she is an evil bitter never-ending nag. If I was married to her, my life could only attain happiness if I were to take a hammer and smash her head in splashing her brains all over the walls and ceiling of the room. Thank you Lord for giving me the sense to know I should never have married. |

I had never heard of the Stansill family until I came on to hear the latest news on the Gosselins', but wow.

What I want to know is, why is it religiously okay to go against "God's will" and get pregnant via IV but not okay to selectively reduce for the
remaining childrens' health?

^ Shutterbug, I wonder the same damned thing. If you throw around God's Will then maybe you need to also accept that God didn't want you to have
children in that way.

Very hard night, we have lost one of our beautiful little girls Kaitlyn Amanda
Stansel. We will terribly miss this most precious little girlSome are doing better than others, but all
are doing better than expected. I know God has a hand in all of this. He will do miracles.

Technically, they went against God's will when getting into the IV shit. I wonder if God has reserved a toasty corner of Hell for them, as he is quite the vengeful bitch, no? |

The uterus is all stretched out- the body is so much more prepared to handle round 2. That woman with the 8 kids, she had one daughter previously so she did well with it too. |

Kate did two segments with Meredith Viera on the Today Show this morning.
Basically looked depressed the whole time, everything is "for the kids", all kids have "sizable tuition funds", she can't vouch for Jon's choices, no apt in Maryland, she's besties with Steve's wife and family, her brother and Jodi are "jealous" and looking for ways to profit from her children outside of doing the show. I'm sure clips will be up on the Today Show site soon enough! |

I don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth anyway.

And she might take it off for a few days to see if the kids notice, but then she'll put it back on. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. I didn't watch the interview; I just heard clips on the radio. It sounded like she was deliberately modulating her voice to come across as depressed yet demure. Bizarre. Did Meredith ask her to address Jon's statement that Kate kicked Jon out in October of last year? Jon's a giant douche, but Kate is making it sound like him dating other women blindsided her. I just wonder if that's really true. Oh yeah, Kevin and Jodi are the ones who are trying to profit, eh? What exactly has J & K (mostly Kate towards the end of the marriage) been doing all their kids' lives??

Does anyone know the weights of all of the Stansel's babies? 12 ounces is tiny... I will be shocked if one lives and they are all around that size.

I
had never heard of the Stansill family until I came on to hear the latest news on the Gosselins', but wow.The Stansels did not do IVF, they used Clomid, which can cause multiple eggs to be released from the ovaries instead of one. Irresponsible use of Clomid should probably be outlawed. Moral and ethical concerns have not caught up with reproductive science yet in any satisfactory way. I don't believe this couple understood that the odds of carrying this litter to a healthy term were, for this particular woman, basically zero. Or perhaps they figured that God would help them. In this case I am not sure it it was the doc's fault. I am sure that (s)he discussed all of the options and perhaps even encouraged selective reduction. But you can't make a woman do that. She was clearly getting a lot of support from the Mormon community for being pregnant with her big Mormon family all at once. It is really obscene to encourage this type of behavior when it's irresponsible and probably is, in fact, unethical not to selectively reduce. Standard of care for a birth at less than 23 weeks is generally 'no heroic measures', because of the cost and risks involved even if they survive. These babies were born just under the wire for that, so it's really an ethically dodgy area. I can't imagine being the doc in that situation and NOT trying everything to save the babies. But the ob/gyn was also in a horrible position in part because of all the media attention that the Stansels courted. He has been forced to operate on these babies and do everything to save them. I cannot imagine what would have happened if he hadn't. And I'm sure their insurance company wants to open a vein right about now for paying for fertility treatments in a very high-risk couple who refused to selectively reduce. pinkdolpin-I think the largest baby was 1 lb, 2 oz. |

need to also accept that God didn't want you to have children FIFY ;) If they can't get pregnant, isn't god trying to tell these uber-religious people he doesn't want their kind? |

As much as I hate that people are having litters now, I couldn't imagine having to pick one to remove. How could you pick? And would you always wonder
which one you removed and what they would have been like? I just think the whole thing is awful.

I think it would be hard, but the decision of which embryo to select is based on biology. The doc figures out which one(s) it would best to remove without
harming the other embryos. So it's not like you are sitting there looking at a sonogram going, 'hmm, I don't like the looks of that
one'.

Kate Gosselin a nightmare behind the scenes at 'Today,' sources say Comments August 10, 2009 BY BILL ZWECKER Sun-Times Columnist Considering TV reality star Kate Gosselin's latest round of media interviews is orchestrated to rehabilitate her tarnished image as a mother - and even as a human being - it didn't start out so well on the "Today" show this morning. ยป Click to enlarge image Kate Gosselin is interviewed on the NBC "Today" television program on Monday. (AP) RELATED STORIES Kate Gosselin still wears her wedding ring Sources from the "Today" staff tell me Gosselin was not the most pleasant person to be around on Monday. In fact, she was ''a total b----'' to virtually everyone, said a longtime NBC staffer. ''We get virtually all of the world's biggest egos coming through here,'' added the source. ''But Kate was one of the most unpleasant I've seen in working here for many years.'' Another staff member also said that when Gosselin learned there was a chance the cameras might catch sight of the large entourage accompanying her (likely to illustrate how much her life has changed becoming a celebrity on the troubled reality show ''Jon & Kate Plus Eight''), ''she strongly hinted she would walk off the show," before the interview with Today co-host Meredith Vieira. The final note: As Gosselin was departing the "Today" set at NBC's 30 Rockefeller Center headquarters in New York, she was overheard trashing Vieira. ''Which is even more crazy,'' added the second source. ''Meredith very clearly, and in a straightforward way, asked exactly the questions you'd expect. She asked about the alleged affair with her bodyguard - which really seemed to piss [Kate] off, her relationship with Jon, how her kids were doing and whether 'if you could do it over again, would you?' '' ''She was swearing like a drunken sailor as she stormed out,'' added the "Today" insider. |
