Paula Moving on to "Celebrity Idol" |
Lead | |
|
Thats the rumor. A bunch of it on Twitter, and I found this site on Twitter too. Celebrityidoltvshow.com. And even Fox moved SYTYCD into the fall lineup to
make room for Celebrity Idol next summer.

Is that a published source from Fox?

It would make sense to stage this stunt to use her to launch a spin-off. As we learned from flops 'American Juniors' and 'Great Band Thingie'
it takes more than 'from the producers of...' to successfully launch an Idol spin-off. I'm still not sure how SYTYCD made it (although I'm glad
it did).

A new spin-off. More antics of the Idol family.

I saw somewhere Nigel Lithgowe said something about talking to Paula about joining SYTYCD as a choreographer.

The head of ABC programming wants Pauler for DTWS. For realz.
Now THAT would be the ultimate "Fuck you, American Idol"! ABC Entertainment President: We'd Love to Have Paula Abdul on 'DWTS'![]()

Could Paula Abdul end up on "Dancing with the Stars"? Stephen McPherson, the president of ABC Entertainment Group, dished on Saturday about the possibility of it happening. "I was a little stunned by the decision. We would love to have her on 'Dancing.' As a contestant, as a participant, as a judge," McPherson told reporters. "I think she's a huge talent. There's a sensitivity and emotion in her that balances out 'American Idol' and we'd love to get a piece of that." He continues, "I have definitely reached out to her. We are friends from way back. I gave her a call to say I was sorry about the situation and we want to see her on ABC. She said, 'Great.' She was traveling and she is going to be back in town and we will sit down." McPherson and Abdul met years ago when he was with Buena Vista and Abdul pitched him projects. As to what the former "American Idol" judge would
do on "Dancing with the Stars," McPherson says, "We have no formal plans. Len Goodman travels back and forth and it is tough
on him. We had to have some guest judges. I think all possibilities are open. We will look at it. It will probably depend on where her head is at."

In what universe would it be fair for Paula Abdul, an accomplished dancer and choreographer, to be a CONTESTANT on DWTS against such strong dancers as Steve
Wozniack and Joan Rivers. Come on. I can buy her being a DWTS judge, especially if Len leaves like he's been threatening, but a contestant? Gimme a break.

trained monkeys can hold up paddles with numbers on them ... I am sure they can teach Paula to read some words from interns and hold up a paddle. Get it done!

Paula should totally be a judge on DWTS. Really give Idol that kick in the nuts they're begging for by letting her go. I can see a large number of people
tuning in for the first time just for her. She was always a dancer more than a singer anyway.
