you're nitpicking - it was just a response to him saying that muslims were the only people who killed people for leaving their religion - neither he nor I said anything about legality or not, though he did amend his original answer to just the 21st century after I brought up the Hugueonaut (sp?) massacres
and yes, it is a bad law, but so were some of the earlier laws regarding heretics and witches in christian countries. Hopefully when the muslim countries catch up to the 600 or so years head start religion wise, that christianity has on Islam, they'll see the light too.
