Depends on the book.
You can read them stories from Field and Stream and Outdoor Life right up until their mid teens. |

I stopped when my son was in second grade. James & the Giant Peach was the last thing I read to him.
I think you can go as long as they're interested. |

Who reads to their children anymore? As soon as they are able to sit up on their own, park their asses in front of the TV and let the TV raise your child.

Would you keep reading to them after they have learned to read for themselves?

I did. My friend read to hers until he was in like 8th grade, but her kid turned out rotten, so there ya go.

You should keep doing that as long as you can. Your kid will eventually grow to the point until they do not like them, until then enjoy them as it will be a
time you can spend with your kid enjoying.

Reading to a child who already knows how to read will build vocabulary and fluency, which is important beginning in 3rd grade.

I find it hard to believe that squash would ask serious advice about, well anything really.
Alright, who fucked up in some thread and told some horrible story about reading to their kid into their 20s or summat. Man up to it. |

Reading to a kid who can read will make him lazy, dependant and uninspired.
