I have a hunch some of these girls speak English perfectly well; they just ask for an interpreter to give them an extra time to answer the question.

Miss Botswana won in 1999 and Miss Namibia won in 1992. I looked at all the Miss Universes since 1990 and there has been one blonde. Miss Australia 2004.

And I remember Miss Namibia (below) talked like she was from CA.

I believe the first lovely woman of color to win was from Trinidad and Tobago back in the 80's. Her name was
Janelle somethinorother and she was very pretty. Seems the Latin girls have now taken over the pageant. Australia as stated above was the last blonde to win. The girl from Botswana was named Mpule and that miss from Namibia is caucasian and not all that pretty in mho. My fave over the past few years is still Riyori from Japan.

Mpule is my favorite beauty pageant contestant ever. I love that she wore that old looking hoop ballgown as if it were the prettiest dress she'd ever seen.
