I've never been to LA, but I have to express my opinion that Detroit or Newark are my nominees for worst city.
There was garbage all over the sidewalks and in the middle of the road in Newark. It was windy when I was there, and a roll of toilet paper chased me down the sidewalk as it was getting blown towards me. Disgusting. And when I was in Detroit I felt like I was going to be killed at any moment. Getting out of my car to get gas at a delapidated gas station was one of the most frightening experiences of my life. I feel I was lucky to get out of there alive. I doubt LA can have a worse impression on me than Newark or Detroit. |

I've never been to LA, but I have to express my opinion that Detroit or Newark are my nominees for worst city. I was born in Detroit and 53 years ago it was a beautiful white city. With the unions and one of the largest paying welfare states(thanks LBJ) blacks poored in and the whites moved out. Now after years of black leadership you have what you see. Isn't it sad that now we will do the same thing to our entire country? If you want to see good blacks go to the Caribbean. I love these hard working people. No welfare there. No whitey to blame your problems on. |

Why you Americans can't accept the fact that Canada is a better place to live then the US?
I've been to Vancouver and Seattle a few years ago and as someone not from north America, I can objectively say that Vancouver wins in every aspect. SuJu, I thought people move to L.A because they want to achieve the current American dream of being famous, not for the cultural diversity. Foreigners come to L.A because they wan to make easy money, there's hot chicks and nice beaches and the weather is similar to the weather back in their home countries (see the Israeli colony in the Vally). |

Oh yes, because the Caribbean is notorious for law-abiding blacks. Wear your wristwatch in public, and you're lucky if one of them doesn't chop off your whole forearm just to get your watch. Not to mention the other 100+ that came up to me and my friends and tried to guilt-trip us into emptying our wallets. The whole bashing Canada thing is old and dumb. There are tons of facts suggesting Canada is a better place to live than the US, including a higher HDI, much
lower murder rates, better healthcare, less crime, less fundamentalism, and so on.
I hope this thread doesn't descend into some sort of pathetic flame war, but it appears to be headed that way. |
