I never got the Jerri hate either. Even my little 11-year-old self loved the bitch. I think I remember throwing and breaking one of my Hot Wheels when she got
voted off.

Well, there is the factor that Jerri may just be a really rotten person and that has come off on camera.
Statistically, she was hated first for the Kel "beef jerkey" allegation. As it is impossible for someone to prove a negative, the only way I will ever believe Jerri's accusation is if she provides a specific date/time during the 6 day's Kel was in the game and then a question to Survivor Production to see if they can find any evidence of this. To Jerri's credit, we know that in Survivor Amazon, someone managed to get a Granola Bar into camp in episode 1 or 2. Assuming it was not planted by production (I believe that would be illegal to do that), so I suppose it is possible. Kel is a US Army trained Ranger and would know how to live off the land and Jerri as an Army Brat would know that. Jerri is certainly too angry about it, to the point that it comes off as fake. That should have summed up Jerri for Australlia. Sure she did Playboy. No problem with that. I think the way she conducted herself on ALL STARS was even worse though. There was a reason why 5000 Survivor Fan's booed her out of the building at the ALL STARS REUNION SHOW. To the point, that i don't mind the jerri haters at all, as I see why they may hate her so much. |

I keep hearing about how she is a rotten and unbearable person, but I never see it on my TV screen.

In Australian Outback.......maybe there was a case to be made against Jerri on a personal level, but it was highly subjective.
In ALL STARS....to be honest, I think that is where I REALLY got the Jerri-hate and saw for myself the rotten woman that she probably really is, and I'm hardly the only one that saw it. |

Could you explain your position to me? I don't see what's wrong with her. |

In australia, I thought Jerri came off as a primadonna. When you look at her application video, she was filming it just two days before the deadline that it
was due. This suggests to me that Jerri, was an actress whom was never going to be anything in hollywood. Then, this show SURVIVOR comes out. Just like that,
people that are on that show are becoming HUGE stars.
Remember that in season 1, even the very early outcasts (BB, Stacey, Ramona) were all getting gigs in Hollywood that Jerri was not getting. And the people that were making it farther into the game, they were getting major contracts and commercials to boot. I think Jerri saw the opportunity and decided she was going to be on Survivor and be controversial in order to jump start her career. Now, there is nothing wrong with that per se, but I can see how some people might not like it. I thought Jerri came off as a wannabe, but unless you genuinely took offense to her and the Kel incident, I don't see it warranting hate for her. But in All Stars, I think she came off as a bitter, rotten, wicked person....it flat out showed on camera and think that is where the REAL Jerri hate came from. |

Actually, Jerri did apply for Survivor 1. She probably had no idea the show would be a major sucess then.
As far as All Stars...I still don't see what's wrong with her. Is she a primadonna? Definately, but nothing more. To call someone "wicked" or evil is a very heavy judgement, are you sure you want to waste it on someone who just wants attention? |

well it's not like I'm actually flaming away on Jerri like I do to Shii Ann. I'm just spelling out why in S2, I can see why some people might have
hated her as opposed to ALL STARS where I DID see why Jerri earned the hate that she has garnered.

I can see why people wouldn't like her. To call her wicked though is overkill. How was she wicked, because Rupert didn't like her? |

It was Rupert's fault that their tribe slept on the pouring rain. Rupert made a stupid shelter underground. WTF is that?

Well, that negative stigma that Jerri has, she has a lot to do with that. It was that negative stigma that got her the Playboy centerfold and the $400K that
came with it, it flat out said "the Bitch of the Outback" so she had an interest in being negative.
Her all star performance, there was the way she conducted herself, the hypocrisies, she claims in that that Kel was flat out caught with the beef jerkey, something the rest of the world has yet to see. I could go on and on but I think there is a reason so many hate Jerri and will leave it at that. |

No you couldn't. It all rests on what other people have said about her. While it is true that she is irritable when she is hungry and is probably an
attention freak, the beef jerkey thing was a total non issue. Hell, it's more likely that she was hated for daring to play the game. As we all know, even
Tina isn't too well respected off the message boards. I think there's an irrational misogyny among audience members.

As far as mean and nasty things that people have done on Survivor, Jerri accusing Kel of eating beef jerky doesn't even crack the top ten. And for the
record, Jeff Probst said in a fairly recent interview that he believes Kel did in fact have jerky.

Jerri was hated because the editors wanted her to be hated. See, Tina and Scerri were in an alliance of 5 from the start with the Colbster, Bitchell and
Lamber. Together, they had decided that "Cal", Mad Dog and KantKookKeith would be the first 3 boots. In fact, once Kel was gone, KantKookKeith became
the most hated player in Australia. Soon Tina would align herself with Keith and would backstab Scerri twice, first by eliminating her closest ally, Bitchell,
and then by killing the witch herself.
Jerri was portrayed as a witch so that the viewers would like the winner, not think of her as a backstabbing villain. Reality TV isn't about reality, it never was. |

and I didn't like how Jerri conduct herself when she is insistent on teaming up with Colby.
However, I found Colby even more unbearable than Jerri. He is one of the most self-righteous douchebag in the game. |

Jeff Probst will say that, of course.
I say that Jeff Probst coerced Janu into quitting on Season 10. The difference is, unless Probst provides us with film from the 6 days that Kel was out there in Survivor, is the only way to prove it one way or another. When Probst said that about believing Kel had the beef jerkey, I think he said that in that Jerri (in the Australlia DVD commentary, Probst claims that jerri vowed never to speak to probst again because of how Probst didn't stop the audience at the Reunion) he was trying to make amends with Jerri. I can say Probst coerced Janu into quitting because I saw him do it on camera on the episode. Until Probst produces video of Kel eating the beef jerkey, we won't know. |

I really hated Jerri on All-Stars. She didn't conceive any all-stars about her beef jerky past.
