Oh wow shit fuck .. sorry to report that the ratings weren't much better this time around compared to last May's sneak preview .. in fact, it was a
little bit smaller. Tonight's re-airing of the Pilot was watched by 8.9 million .. which .. woww .. after all the hoohas??? Unbelievable. I guess you could
add glee to the increasing pile of brilliant shows which never had a chance

I was going to say super... A) There's no way overnights are up yet. B) If a rerun got within 2 million of its original airing it's a huge victory. Good one though... you had me for second. |

Obama's Sept. 9 Address Could Boost Glee, America's Next Top Model PremieresPosted on 02 September 2009 by Bill Gorman
President Obama is now scheduled to address a joint session of Congress during prime-time on September 9. Exactly when hasn't been set, but it's likely to be 9pm Eastern (although the last Obama prime-time address/press conference was quickly rescheduled from 9pm to 8pm after some of the broadcasters balked, and Fox Broadcasting didn't carry the address, but Fox News did). But the fall premieres of Fox's So You Think You Can Dance and Glee are both currently scheduled for September 9. Whether the address is at 8pm or 9pm, it completely screws up Fox's night since those shows are scheduled for synergy. For that reason, and the fact that Fox Broadcasting declined to carry the last address, I'd expect them to decline this time as well. The CW has the season premiere of America's Next Top Model, but they never carry news conferences, so they will benefit regardless. Since the address will likely happen at 9pm, I'd expect Glee, and to a lesser extent America's Next Top
Model to benefit in the ratings. Primarily because if NBC carries the address (which I'd expect them to), they'll have to move the 9pm
results episode of America's Got Talent to either 8pm or 10pm, getting it out of Glee's way. (if
the address is at 8pm, So You Think You Can Dance will be the beneficiary, but much less so, since it would only have faced a repeat
AGT). America's Next Top Model is going to face the new AGT for an hour either way, so its boost would likely
be much less.

I can't edit my last post, so I'll just post again. I just noticed that Don't Stop Believing was back on Itunes bestseller list at #75

I really really hope Glee does benefit from this. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm sick of Obama messing with the TV schedule, especially
when I'm not even in his country!
Good news about DSB back up on the bestseller list... means lots of new viewers last night :) |

Watched for the first time yesterday. I've heard everyone talking about it, and spent the whole summer trying to find out when and where it's on, and I
started thinking maybe it was an American cable show or something. Imagine my GLEE to find out the series hadn't started yet.
Love the thread title |

That reminds me, does anyone else have a conflict with it being on wednesdays? I mean that is puzzle day after all.

I've been refreshing zap2it for the past half hour too, SI. =P Oh and whoever wrote this comment on the ratings page needs to STFU I HATE YOU!!! "It may've been a repeat of the pilot, but still, Glee doesn't look like it's going to deliver much for FOX, judging by last night's results. There goes another overly-hyped new show down the drain." |

If the premiere doesn't do better, they can always add a storyline about a teenage stripper girl who is having a lustful relationship with her father, who
had one country hit in the 90's. That's what all the kids are into these days, right?

I don't know 4mil for a "rerun." I mean the show was not only re-run on fox, but has been free on Itunes since May. So I think a good amount of
people had already seen it and did not bother to tune in. I would say the REAL ratings will be next week. Of course America is pretty stupid and can not be
counted out to fuck things up. Look at Pushing Daisies or Arrested Development. If a show is not either a crappy reality show, or has a fat dude married to a
chick who is too hot for him to have gotten in real life America doesn't understand it.

I re-watched Glee last night and liked it more than I did after its first airing.
In my eyes, Jane Lynch can do no wrong. Ever. I love her. |

I'm guessing the ratings are just because so many people have already seen the pilot. If even an eighth of that number was NEW viewers that's a great
sign. Right? Right?
