lol. Ok the HII identification is solved. how about the II? Didn't someone sometime last year, make up a graphic including snippets of past immunity idols?
Or was it just of the HIIs? Or am i just hallucinating again?

This may've already been said, but perhaps the point of these leaders is they know full well that only 4 players can compete and they need to select which
players while the others stand to the side. That way it may makes people pissy that they never get to compete and wanna target the leader. Kinda sounds like
pirate master though.

I just finished watching the TV Guide Survivor-Samoa preview with Taj Johnson-George. Taj did a fantastic job and she looked great. There were clips towards
the end of the show of what was reported to be "the first challenge" of the Samoa season -- but I could not tell much about which team had the lead
in this running/climbing steep ramps kind of thing. Sadly, there were no chickens, with or without balloons.

Haven't finished vidcapping the IC yet, but Galu takes an early lead over the barriers. Then there's a stage where they haul a box along a track, and
I think they maintain their lead there. The final stage is a puzzle, using the contents of the box plus the box itself, with four people working for each tribe
(the other six people do the first two stages). Both tribes are shown doing it, and there are a lot of shots of the Galu people worriedly cheering Laura,
Monica, Kelly and Shannon on, while looking over at Foa Foa. So it's unclear who actually wins, but it looks like it might be close. I didn't see any
evidence of the idol in either camp, nor clear shots of one tribe or the other celebrating. But I may have missed something.

It didn't seem like there was a whole lot of game info in the preview, compared to some past seasons. Besides the puzzle box dragging, I got:
- the egg grabbing is a separate challenge. Apparently really it is some sort of beer pong the crew made up. Seemed to be nine-on-nine? - there was a big yellow ball in the background of one of the art direction shots. Reminded me of the big wooden balls for the mud combat ball challenge in China. Must be used pre-merge if it's yellow? - no sign of Robert Louis Stevenson - lots of references to Samoan culture, although not anything I recognize. (Eg, the extreme communality) - somehow people end up in the other tribe's camp. I didn't hear anything about if they are sent or taken. I also figured out finally how to remember which is the yellow tribe and which is the purple tribe: If you say it like "foe foe" it rhymes with yellow. 8>) |

Jeff said there is no EI, but you get selected to go to the other tribe's camp (RC loss?) to look for the HI there. Both camps have their own HI, with
separate clues. They can only use the HI intended for their camp (fake HIs might still come into play I'd guess)
...They might have the other camp to themselves if the winning tribe gets a reward excursion. The triangle IC challenge has 3 triangular barriers, each higher than the last. They have to maneuver a box over them. After they have taken them over the 3, two remaining members use the pieces to solve a puzzle. The egg challenge must be ep 2 and is sort of a basketball / rugby scrum game. The people in the middle battle for balls, the people on platforms shoot baskets.

Oh, and so far there don't seem to be much sign of swim out/dive down challenges. The TV Guide thing mentioned the water, but most of the images seemed to
be inland. Sounds like Jaison has the swimming chops, if it does come up.

There was a new ad on CBS last night, with the theme "Russell (H) is evil." There are a couple of shots in it that support the idea that Foa Foa is
the first tribe to visit tribal council.
Here, the key is that Ben (and to some extent Russell and Ashley) is dressed as he is at the IC. This suggests it's a post-IC meeting, and they're talking vote strategy as they prepare to head to TC.
This I think is more telling. Russell is headed out of camp with his bag, as is the person in front of him (bottom right corner), and nobody's bringing the tribal flag. That seems like a departure for tribal to me. |

Very interesting and it looks good, thanks TDT.
What may be more interesting is that Ben might even be in line for the boot along with Mike. I'd add Marisa to that list, but if she is to be used by the Russell H then she has to be there a while. |

also via TDT the puzzle solvers:
Kelly, Shannon, Monica and Laura(?)
Marisa, Mike(?), Betsy and Liz |

So are there 2 challenges in the first episode?
On youtube they describe the 'Yank your Hank' challenge as 6 people running with the crate, then they sit down and then 4 puzzle solvers do their work. So this challenge and the swimming, lifting, key through rope then puzzle challenge are both on the first show? btw, is when do the RC and IC challenge threads begin in Mess? Shmurgenball (?) looks to be played by 9 people per side (assumed reporters playing in TV guide clip on youtube) So from 2 or possibly 3rd episode.

We will start the weekly threads with ep 2. In the mean-time we traditionally use the pre-season game thread. The Shmurgenball looks more like an RC type event. Yup could be ep 2 or 3. |
