I just watched the Pilot and was not expecting it to be as great as it was. I get now how people were saying the second episode didn't compare.

Only thing that bothered me was that the lip syncing was a bit off at times. I thoroughly enjoyed the episode though, I hope the next episodes are as good!

The wife storyline is dull, but maybe that's the point--to show how trapped he is. Loved everything that happened at the school, especially they way they
are lampooning political correctness and how it is now being used as a bully strong arm tactic to power trip over people. Jane Lynch is hilarious--perfect
comic timing.

The first eppie's music was so seamlessly woven in, and though it was obviously recorded, the singing did not seem so cheesily dubbed. If they would have
set it up that way in the beginning, I would be able to chew it a lot more easily.
HATE that they had to multiply Jane Lynch X 30. She is a wonderful actress, and the part villainous enough. There is no need to force it down our throats. I feel that is an insult to an amazing actress. I did like how she made everything a gender issue... but it could have been done with a lot less "pow" and still been funny and effective. The Ecuadorian children line WAS hilarious. Funniest of the night. I was actually thinking that home life storyline was going to be the most fun until they introduced the fake baby element. I also agree that wife was no Ellen Green. Ellen Green is annoying AND endearing. I find this wife character so OTT that it makes zero sense this guy (who is actually played so low-key and with a certain amount of naturalism) would ever be with her. Then her romantic rival is someone even MORE ridiculous? With the guidance chick... I love the actress; but tone it down a bit, and help us understand why the guy would fall for her. I am not saying to make this a sudser... just tone it down a tad so there can be more believability. It IS funny. There ARE great lines. The lead actor IS awesome (he is so not attractive to me, yet I was oddly getting turned on by his moves, as many have pointed out). I adore the high school girl (forget her name) who can really sing. I even really like the principal... such unexpected moves from him... I just feel that, as of now, the show is too schizophrenic. It takes zaniness over the line into pathology too much for my tastes, does not seem to have a consistent tone, and has gone too far into cartoon territory with many of the characters. I will hold on, because it IS more fun than most of what is on TV. I just was so excited, from the pilot, about something that seemed EXACTLY what I was hoping for. As is, it is probably at about the 50% line... where, to be honest, most shows are at about 20% for me. |

I'm in withdrawal. They wanna make me go to Glee-hab, and I said no-no-no-no.

It is the WHY he still loves her that baffles me. She is ridiculous. I get why he started with her, but it makes no sense that an even slightly rational man
would stay with her. She is just TOO cartoonish, IMO.

I may be in the minority but I think I liked the second ep slightly better than the pilot.
But my least favorite part was the wife's fake pregnancy thing. Loved it up until she decided to just pretend to be pregnant. Just seemed very forced that she'd do that, but as long as the laughs, good one-liners and good music keep coming I'll be willing to overlook things like that. Oh and I didn't think Sue was any more OTT this episode than the pilot so I'm surprised some of you are saying that. She was always OTT and I love her for it. |

It's obvious he's not happy though - he knew exactly what Emma was going on about when she said that they had to stop what they were doing. I imagine
that if she weren't pregnant he might have eventually left him for Emma, but maybe he does love her. I'd actually like to see an episode where they
went back to their days in high school or something and saw more of their past. The only problem I have with the show right now is the fact you've got two
"love triangles" going on at the same time, so somewhere something's going to suffer - namely, in this episode, it was a complete lack of focus
on Mercedes, Kurt, Tina and...wheelchair dude who's name I can't remember. Hopefully next week that'll change :)
Also, Emma singing All By Myself in the car was hilarious and I completely forgot about it. She's gone from a cute character in the pilot to one of my favourite ones, actually. Rachel is still stealing the show though, especially with that performance of Take A Bow (which is one of my favourite songs <3) |

They could at least give us a glimmer of what he still sees in her, SOME redeeming quality. Making her out to be a clown is pretty much insulting the
intelligence of the character and the viewer, IMO.

That was the most understandable response I have seen, probably the ONLY one that makes a lick of sense.

I'm in for now.
My favorite parts were the Push It performance and Finn using his vision of running over the mailman as a way to prevent himself from busting a nut. |

I kind of want the wife to transition to ex-wife before the end of season one, but I do think there are some redeeming qualities about her. They've been
together since high school and they still take baths together, she's hot, it looked like she didn't *plan* on lying about the pregnancy being
hysterical until the last second and she's not her sister (looks GREAT in comparison).
The craft room sort of skirts the edge of being hillarious and over the top. Jesalyn Gilsig's performance is kind of the same. I think she could be a good source of entertainment but again, better to move her over to the ridiculous ex-wife who complicates things instead of keeping her there against all sense while Emma pines away and dates the Thing. There are lots of things that will settle down and find their groove as the season goes on. Almost every show has that slightly off look and feel when you go back and watch the first handful of eps and I'm sure Glee will be no exception. |

We did see in the pilot a change, or crack in the armor of the relationship btw Will & Terri. When they are doing puzzle night and he brings up the Glee
club she shoots it down and he comes back at her about her shopping sprees that she hides from him. Like he loves her, but you can see where he loved Glee club
more. He even said the 1993 competition was the happiest point of his life until she told him about being a father. Not his wedding or anything having to do
with Terri, it was Glee. I think if the "baby" was not in the picture he really wouldn't have a problem choosing Glee over her.
