Wonder when the mother is going back to work.
I mean what does she do all day besides have lunch with friends and shop. In more one week she can drive and do everything again. So, lets hope she goes back to work or spends more time with the babies at the NICU. Does whatever needs to be done around he house, etc. No pictures have been posted yet of their trip. Wonder if they realized it may not be such a good idea afterall since they are basicly waiting for Ashlyn to pass away. Pictures of them relaxing and smiling doesn't match the current mood. Not that it ever did but you know what I mean. |

I really don't get why she can't do anything for six weeks. I was driving, walking & everything after having both of my c-sections within a couple
of weeks. And I went full term w/my pregnancies. She didn't even get that big.

All the "God's will" talk bothers me. I mean, wasn't it God's will that she's got an incompetent cervix and can't conceive
naturally? How come it's only God's Will when it's what you want?

After my C-section I was told not to drive or carry objects heavier than the baby for 6 weeks. Not to do anything too strenous physically. I delivered at 33
weeks. I was walking around with minimal pain. Different doctors say different things I guess.

All the "God's will" talk bothers me. I mean, wasn't it God's will that she's got an incompetent cervix and can't conceive naturally? How come it's only God's Will when it's what you want? A true fundie response should be "God didn't want you to have children but you did anyways with the help of science. Now you have pissed off God and he is punishing you with sick children." |

In September of 2007 Thomas and Amanda decided to start a family. For several months they tried with no luck to conceive. Amanda had been previously diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and so she went to her OB/GYN for help, who suggested she see a fertility specialist since after discovering Amanda had endometriosis and one blocked Fallopian tube. She first saw a fertility specialist in April 2008 and was started on Clomid, which resulted in 2 failed cycles. The fertility specialist decided it was time to take a more aggressive approach. He started Amanda on follicle stimulating hormone shots for ovulation induction in preparation for IUI (intrauterine insemination). After Amanda's first treatment cycle with the shots she became pregnant with twins. We were excited and felt blessed; unfortunately, she lost the twins in September 2008 at 18 weeks due to an incompetent cervix. As hard as it was, we kept moving forward in our quest to have a child. She did a second ovulation induction and IUI in December 2008 which resulted in an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. Still determined and not willing to give up we went ahead and did a third IUI in March 2009. Happy and joyful we were when we found out Amanda was pregnant again. At her first ultrasound on April Fools' Day, we found out we were expecting four babies, but a follow-up ultrasound two weeks later revealed a fifth baby. Shocked and excited thinking we were expecting quintuplets, a third scan a few weeks later found the sixth baby.We all know how that third pregnanacy worked out. So, God made it almost impossible for her to conceive and carry a baby. Talk about God's will. He made it very obvious several times she was not meant to have biological children. This is the result of their stubborness and selfishness. Something tells me they haven't learned their lesson yet either. They will try again for a healthy baby. |

If these nutjobs are sick enough to try for another baby, all we can hope is that they won't be able to find a doctor to prescribe the drugs. Dare to dream. |

Ashlyn is still fighting and seems to be making it through this pneumonia. She is so resilient and seizes to amaze us.Why are they amazed when their daughter has a seizure. Sick fucks. |

Oh, dear. She seizes to amaze us? That's, ummm, INteresting. News FrenzyYes, the most important thing of course is the little girls, which is why you talk about the interviews first. And you could not pay me enough to do interviews in the same situation. Jesus Christ. I look forward to the NYT article. Hopefully it won't be a People-esque profile of how wonderful everything is. |

Link to the video interview. Thank heavens he says they won't be using fertility treatments again. He said it's just too risky. Didn't they realize
that after losing their first two pregnancies?

First a "Media Blitz" and now a "News Frenzy." I'm not getting why this is such a big news story, unless on the tails of the Octomom,
the media is seizing (correct use of the word!) the opportunity to shed light on the actual realities of allowing women to be impregnated with whole litters of
babies at once.
These Stansels really seem stupid enough to think that the stories are going to be all sunshine and roses about their love for the Lord and the glorious, happy, happy news that the babies at least got their bodies before they died slow painful deaths. They are going to be shocked when they realize they are being held up to the world as a what-not-to-do couple. Hopefully the news stories will include the fact that these babies were born literally hours past viability, that they together weighed less than an average singleton weighs at birth, that their eyes are still fused shut, their organs months away from being mature enough to do the things they are being forced to do right now, like eat, breathe, pee. That the reason they can't hold them is because their skin is so delicate because it should have had four more MONTHS in amnio fluid to mature, and that it is so sensitive to light and touch that it cracks and bleeds and becomes infected. That the doctors can only guess at how to dispense all the gobs of medication they are getting to a body weight that tiny. And all of that is before they even examine the very real possibility of the long-term ramifications of these babies. |

Rachel's grade I bleed resolved, she's their best chance, if her gut can hold out. Ashlyn's not stable enough to be tapped, and is edematous, kidneys hurting from the anti-fungal meds, time to go to the light Carol Ann. |
