I won't go into detail on them since I'm late catching up but I loved the first two episodes and I'm glad Brendan and Sierra got booted first. I also love the dynamics on Jalapao and on Timibra, and the way you've written everyone. It's different from the show but realistic at the same time.
Thank you. It's very nice to hear this. I'm surprised you loved the first two eps and didn't like this one as much, but I'm glad you like the way the characters are written. I always go for realistic, yet I feel it's important for my characters and storylines to have a slightly different feel to them so that you're not just reading the same stuff over and over again. So I always see it kindof as a different "version" of that same character.
Love the color-coded post, btw! :)
I didn't enjoy this episode as much as the first two but I guess it's because I'm less invested in Timbira than I am in Jalapao and due to their loss this was a more Timbira-centric episode. Debbie and Sandy irritated me in the first scene where Jalapao returned to camp after Sierra had been voted off. It's like I'm already starting to see the whole "let's help JT win!" storyline develop all over again. I'm not surprised to see Joe & JT running Jalapao but I was hoping there would be more opposition or something. Oh yeah and wtf do Joe and JT think they're doing pulling Debbie into an alliance to eventually be able to take out Sydney and Spencer? Unacceptable. Spencer and Sydney are the only reason I give a shit about that alliance so they better not even think about it. Srsly.
I guess I can understand that based on Jalapao being your favorite tribe. I promise there is no "Let's help J.T. win" storyline though. I always feel that my players are a little more game-savvy and make stronger moves for themselves to win, so I can't think of an example where I've really had someone playing for someone else. Actually, thinking about it, this season *might* have something similar but not for J.T. and it's much less obvious. If one of Spencer/ Sydney becomes a victim of alliance switching, I hope you'll continue to read and root for the other one.
Candace's meltdown and Carolina/Erinn's immediate "how can this help me moment?" was great, too. It's kind of funny to see Carolina & Erinn as besties because they did have the same type of personality that got on everyone's nerves. It was also kind of amazing to see Stephen come out of his INV1 edit and emerge as a big power-player just to get voted off. I'm glad it was him though because I think he brought the least Timbira. I'm glad Erinn & Carolina got to stay and I don't blame Taj and Jerry for siding with the Coach/Candace/Tyson threesome. I think that was their smartest move.
Carolina and Erinn really do make a great combination in this game even though they'll probably continue to take a lot of bashing from their tribemates and
some of it will be deserved. They're kindof underdogs but at the same time you don't really know if you're supposed to be rooting for them because
Carolina is also a bit of a negative personality, a bit of a villain, but then again, she was supposed to be first to go from Day One, so you don't really
know. It usually happens that either my 3rd or 4th boot is INV1 in one of the episodes prior to them being voted off and Stephen followed that pattern again. I
think he could have been a good character - I just think he would have ended up being way too similar to Charlie from last season.
The Timbira Tribal Council was probably the best part. I love seeing Candace and Coach clash, as well as Erinn/Carolina and Coach.
Thanks. Glad the Tribal Council was one of the better parts to read. I always try to put as much detail as possible into those.
6. I liked it but I didn't love it. I'm giving it a 6 because even though I'm neutral on it I felt like it pushed the story forward a lot and ended very well.
Aw, I'm actually kindof sad to see a 6. I'm not distraught over it or anything, but you're the only person so far to rate it below a 9.
Hopefully you'll like next week's episode better.
I want to see more of Sydney obviously but specifically her relationship with Joe and Spencer. Why are she and Joe so tight, but yet Joe considers Debbie their third wheel and Spencer/Sydney as the bottom of the alliance?
You're a little bit ahead of me, lol. I promise this will come up in Episode 4, but to give the gist of it: It's J.T. who wants Debbie as the third
wheel because that's who he's closest to, but Joe wants Sydney for the same reason.
Thanks for your predictions, and for filling out the Popularity Poll.
With my luck, SydneyWell, she seems like she has people that would be targeted before her. Hopefully you don't always have bad luck.![]()
Thanks again for your comments, Mikester! I enjoyed reading what you had to say and I hope you enjoy the rest of the story more than this episode. Have a great day! :)
