Really good for a fan made intro even though the last people to appear are too rushed

Okay, so heres the lowdown on this years "First Impression people"
In Gabon, in order of finish, you had: BOB- Winner Matty- 4th Place Crystal- 6th Place Marcus- 10th Place Ace- 12th Place (But Big Character) GC- 14th Place (Big Early Character) TOCANTINS Stephen Erinn Coach Sierra Tyson Sandy 6 of the biggest characters of the season SAMOA Brett Shannon Marisa Russell Betsy Im placing my bets that all of these 5 will at least last 4 episodes |

Zonker wrote: I think that they gave us a clue to the first boot when they showed Mike falling on his ass when they landed on the beach. In China, Chicken had the first confessional but it was about how he is blessed to be in China since he has never been outside the US before. In the first 3 minutes, we are introduced to Betsy the police officer who used to trust people but doesn't anymore. That doesn't sound like a first boot type confessional. |

Both of those are really good. I actually didn't read closely enough and I thought Fokkerd's was the real one until I'd finished watching it. On a
second pass I found like ten obvious signs it wasn't. Like where it says it isn't. But really, I'm impressed by the fire and rain on the photos.
And even though Tom320000's is more obviously an amateur (notably with the graphic-y tribe names) those images of the castaways are so well chosen. I hadn't realized what a beautiful smile Ashley has. Glowing. And Ben looks all bad ass strutting around in his ice blue sunglasses. And I love that shot of Erik with the Southern con man straw grass in his teeth. Beautifully done. |

Like Gibson, I wanted to say the first boot and the winner are both going to be in the First Impressions. But I realized I'm getting that from the first
time they did it, in Micronesia. There they quoted a selection of the Favorites, including back to back soundbytes from Johnny Fairplay and Parvati, early
boots Yao Man and Penner, and late boots James and Cirie. But if you look at that one closer they're simply the biggest names going in.
I suspect it's pushing the trend too far to say "This is proof X, Y and Z characters are safe and one of them wins." Editing shows patterns, but that's usually because the same formulas make sense in each individual situation, not because editors like following a formula for its own sake. I think there's a range of things they've always set up with these - future conflicts, bold personalities, ironic foreshadowing, and most importantly the people you need to know to follow episode one. And besides, this is where Survivor wants to show people "Look! We've got a young guy (Brett), and a young girl (Marisa), and an older guy (Russell S.) and an older woman (Betsy.) Even a lesbian (Shannon). And they all have to work together! Isn't this exciting?!" |

He's posted it at least twice before in other threads.
This isn't a nicey-nicey board, so if you can't handle it, perhaps you'd better do one yourself? ETA: And by "do one", I mean fuck off.

It's never so obvious who really loves Survivor than in that first moment Jeff Probst welcomes them a cast to the game. There's always one person
who's smiling so hard they look like their cheek is gonna cramp. This is the height of cool in Ashley's world. And when Jeff reveals the twist
Natalie's worried whether she looks alright on camera. Kelly looks stressed. But Ashley is actually crying she's so happy. Man, that's my kinda
girl! GO ASHLEY!!!!!

Marissa and Ashley both look totally stoked to be there. Gotta love the infectious smiles, Shambo's as well. I am sure the smiles will go quickly, but it
is encouraging to see that they aren't just posers, they are really excited to play the game... WHO WOULDN'T BE??!!

In the video, I loved the editing when Jeff seems to be engulfed by giant waves, in front and back, yet survives. LOL We're in for a good one, folks! Enjoy! |
