Kelly Clarkson Won't Let Summer End...

This was an audience that had been warmed up Samsung Summer Krush Opening Act Competition winners The Lives of Famous Men, a band of five young men from Anchorage Alaska. They performed three of their original songs as the Jimmy Kimmel Live crew tweaked lights and ran camera tests around them. This was their very first television appearance.

Clarkson took the stage just before 8:30 pm in Babylon Court, following in another, earlier, Diva's footsteps with this performance, as just last year Mariah Carey graced the same spot to sing fan favorites from her last album, E=MC2. But the excitement might have been even greater for Clarkson, whose fans were buzzing all evening about her blog post reaction to Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift's VMA acceptance speech. Clarkson, who wondered if West wasn't hugged enough as a child, wrote: "It's absolutely fascinating how much I don't like you. I like everyone. I even like my @$$hole ex that cheated on me...The best part of this evening is that you weren't even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up...I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her…so why can't you be??" Very well said, and last night her vocal talent was in just as high quality.

Although Mariah Carey, in the summer before Clarkson, only performed five songs, Clarkson stayed around for a whopping thirteen, thrilling and surprising the large crowd. She opened the night with a newer rendition of an old favorite, "Miss Independent," and then broke into the ballad "Already Gone" for the Kimmel and other media cameras. Unfortunately for Kimmel, there was a technical glitch-- but the fans were thankful because it meant they got to hear "Already Gone" for a second time. This is what happens when a normally live show pre-tapes a segment; suddenly everything that can, does go awry!

Clarkson got the crowd jumping and singing along to "I Do Not Hook Up," her final song for Kimmel and the media. However, she stuck around for another ten songs for the fans, including "Never Again," "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Because of You," and a version of "Walking After Midnight" that should put last season's Idol contestant Megan Corkrey to shame.

Taking only one sip of wine early on in the evening, Clarkson performed for just about an hour, offering fans and Hollywood & Highland patrons for free for what many often pay close to one hundred dollars. Clarkson encouraged fans to sing along to choruses of her hits

Kelly Clarkson Closes Out The Samsung/AT&T Summer Krush Concert Tour September 15th, 2009

Last night in Hollywood, CA, Kelly Clarkson performed a live concert at the Hollywood & Highland Complex to close out the Samsung/AT&T Summer Kush Concert Tour in front of hordes of fans. My roving reporter and BFF Darion was on hand to attend last night's concert and he sends in a bunch of fantastic photos to share with all of us. Here are some of Darion's photos along with his take on Kelly Clarkson's live performance last night:

Josh and I had the pleasure of attending a live outdoor concert today at the Hollywood and Highland complex in Los Angeles - next to the Kodak theater, where they host the Oscars. We had SUCH an amazing night! It was the final concert in the Samsung AT&T Summer Krush concert tour - and headlining tonight was one of my favorite singers, Kelly Clarkson! They were also taping several songs for Jimmy Kimmel Live! - Set to air tonight, Tuesday September 15th on his show. Samsung/AT&T were there to promo their new Samsung Jack slim mobile phone, and had kiosks set up where you could check it out. Josh and I were set up in the VIP area at the H&H "Babylon Court", with a great vantage point above the crowds - PLUS an open bar and tons of food! It was kind of ridic. Kelly came on shortly after 8pm - and got off to a rousing start with "Miss Independent"! The crowd went ballistic and you could tell there were a lot of hardcore fans there. She then slowed things down with "Already Gone", then got people jumping with "My Life Would Suck Without You" - which made for such a cool sight! Looking up and down the various levels of the Hollywood & Highland complex, you could see people jumping and singing along on every floor! I had the pleasure of attending Kelly's last tour through LA for her latest album, and let me tell you - the girl can SING! She puts on such a great show. Josh hadn't seen her live before, and was blown away by how great she sounds live! Her voice is just amazing - if you get the chance to see her on her tour, GO! There's no lipsyncing, homegirl has some pipes! Kelly continued with "Breakaway", "If I Can't Have You", and then what she called one of her personal favorites - "Never Again". Several times throughout the show I thought she was waving to us - but apparently we were standing next to some 'close personal friends' of hers. Awww! I still pretended she was singing to me! The acoustics outside sounded great and the crowd was really crazy for her - you could tell Kelly was having fun and she was really playful with the crowd. She ended the concert by performing Since You Been Gone - you could feel the thumping of everyone jumping and going crazy! The concert rocked and it was an amazing night, we had a blast! HUGE shout out to Wendy for setting us up, and Danielle and the Samsung/AT&T crew for taking care of us - and most of all to Trent & PITNB!

Aww … I'm so glad that Darion and Josh had a great time last night. Trust me, if I were home I would've deffo been there to see Kelly Clarkson perform live but I'm really happy that Darion and Josh were there to enjoy it for themselves. I have been very fortunate to see Kelly perform live before and Darion is right, homegirl can sing and she absolutely does so live. Kelly Clarkson Lashes Out at Kanye West for VMA Antics

Kanye West's stage antics at the MTV VMAs last night have led to some serious repercussions from some surprising places. Kelly Clarkson posted a blog entry of outrage on behalf of Taylor Swift, saying that she would prefer "an ex that cheated" over the outlandish rapper.

Kelly asked the question on everyone's mind, opening the entry with, "what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like sh**".

Kelly plays doctor in the entry, diagnosing Kanye with childhood trauma and lack of affection as causes for his abrupt interruption.

Kelly had some harsh observations such as "I've seen you do some pretty sh***y things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, a**hole ways", also citing that Kanye showed a lot of misplaced passion for an award he had not even been nominated for.
