Despite the major problems this season has, I find it funny that the hip-hop routines seem so much more enjoyable, entertaining, and interesting that the US
hip-hop has been for a while. Yes, Cody sucked at the krump, but with Dancehall and Luther's choreography going to JR and Daniel, and the hip-hop actually
being hip-hop instead of story infused crap that literally follows the lyrics of the music, I am impressed with most of the HH this year. Even the HH in the
first week with Emanuel was interesting because it had a different style than what we usually see.

Have to agree that most of these couples and routines would not stand a chance in the US or Aus versions, but oh well we will apologize (like the Canadians we
are) and move on.
You are right, I was confusing Nat and Jenna-Lynn.. Nat did a solid version of Rhumba I thought. And Benji choreo'd the Hustle??? wtf was that dance style. Not quite disco.. I didn't get that at all. Are we making up dancestyles as we go now? |

Jayme Rae and Daniel were the best for a second week in a row, and this week with very little competition.

Was Benji in the audience? Oh, did anyone find it awkward how they praised the choreographers this week. I much prefer it when they are sitting in the
audience. Having them stand in their own little section looked a little too awkward.

Bottom 3 ladies:
Jenna Lynn Amy Melanie No surprise a very upset Jenna Lynn goes home.. "I am so important" is a quote I will remember. What is up with these Canadian girls?? |

Bottom 3 men:
Nicola Vincent Cody and the uber smiley Nicola is gone gone gone I don't disagree with these choices. The solos were fairly strong tonight. LOVED watching Melanie's movements, so clean and maybe not huge tricks, but beautiful. Why does Leah only cry for the boys leaving?? |

Also very glad to see that Melanie and Cody were in the bottom 3. That routine was the worst of the night. It means that Canada isn't voting for the cutest
dancer in Cody, or Nicola for that matter, but rather for the routines that sucked.
No way Melanie deserved to go home, but it wasn't wrong that they were in bottom after that routine. I actually think the quickstep was worse than Amy/Vincent's hip hop, but it was close. So really the 3 of the 4 worst routines of the night did get punished. IMHO. |

What the hell Heliox, are you watching the Newfie feed or something?
Can't say I disagree much. I assume the judges are as mystified as I am about Vincent being in the bottom three for a second week so they had to lose one of the street boys. They might not get another chance with Cody but it was insane to see Jenna get criticized for her partnering skills when Nicola is so awkward. And yeah, I can see Jenna having tude about her dismissal. She gets so stone faced whenever the judges actually make criticisms instead of the ridiculous gushing. So Austin has to settle for shoulder checking his partner in the face instead of getting her eliminated. Is that improvement? |

I missed the show, so I ccan't judge the solos. Anyway, I don't think Jenna Lynn was a bad dancer; she has star quality and what not, but out of the
girls in the bottom, she was an easy boot. But, based on ability, she was one of the stronger females of the season. But I can't wait to see her
bitterness. Three in a row is funny. None of the other girls look like the outspoken type, though, so the bitterness may end.
I am very surprise that TJ+E have avoided the bottom so far. I mean, they have gotten fast ballroom routines for three straight weeks, far out of each of their styles. As unimpressed as I have been with Nicolas, I am kind of sad he went. He seemed like such a nice guy, and Cody would have been a much better choice (why the fuck do the judges think he is good?). I am very surprised to see them in the bottom. They really deserved it, though; the mambo was fucking atrocious. But now Cody will be around for a while... ugh. Poor Nicola... I had such high hopes for him, and he was one of the more legitimately cute guys this season (take THAT Cody). I know I have been hard on Nicola, but he was better than Cody. Oh, and the Benji curse strikes again; he has choreographed 4 routines for Canada, and ALL of them have been in the bottom, causing the eliminations of Jessie, Caroline, Aressey, and now these two. |

The boots were fine with me. Austin's stock has risen imo after his gracious handling of being safe this week.

Ya, I was really hoping Cody would finally go after that awful performance, not to mention Nicolas was better both nights.

and Nicolas and Vincent both owned their solos. Cody's was terrible.

After seeing the group routine, I must say, why can't JM just stick to choreographing. Yes, it wasn't nearly as good as his waltz routine last year,
but compared to his judging... Oh, and one of the girls showed serious latin flavour in the routine. I think it might have been Jayme (hard to tell on youtube,
but I hope it was her). As for the solos, JL was much improved over last week. She had some repetition, but not nearly as much. But she needs to make her
routines more than just a series of leaps, bounces, and hairflips. Amy was... well, I really want to like her, but I haven't seen the brilliance that the
judges speak of. Her leaps were a little weak, but at least she showed more swagger than last night (although, again, youtube only allows you to see so much).
It wasn't bad, but she needs to pick it up.
Melanie had a very nice solo. It may have just been the youtube fuzzing up her face, but her performance actually seemed subdued. Her movement quality is very interesting (and very musical), and it was a nice solo. My only problem is that he second leap looked very, very weak. As for the guys, Nicolas had a good (but generic) solo. He had some nice moments (and not all tricks), and I love how he just kept going at the end. And props to him for not having any this time. Vincent has become my official favorite of the competition. I LOVE jive solos, and his was clean, and clever. I don't know why you didn't enjoy his solo in finals week, Heliox, it looked fine to me. Anyway, this was much better than that. As for Cody, well... he was better than I expected, but I hate him, so that does not say much. He was okay, but repetitive, and just a weak dancer all together. Even Ivan was stronger than him, and I hated Ivan. I really wish Cody had left, especially after the solos, and I sorta would have liked Amy to leave with Cody, not just because I don't particularly care for either dancer (well, I hate one of them), but because it would have paired Vincent with Melanie. How cool would that have been (and it would have helped Vincent avoid the bottom)? But with Nicolas leaving, there isn't much incentive to pair JL with Vincent, so it isn't as bad that she left. Still, unlike the rest of you here, I enjoyed most of her dancing, and I don't know if it's because Nicolas was so small, making it hard to partner her, but I fount her to be a much stronger overall dancer than he was.

After finally watching the elimination show I must say even though I liked Cody's solo it was a distant third to Nikola and Vincent that night.
And Jenna-Lynn's reaction was more strange than anything. She actually said all the right things aside from the "important" oddness. And kudos to her for barely acknowleging Leah. |

Holy crap. I thought that the chick dancing with Austin tonight was a MAN.
That is one tranny looking chick. |

I missed the last two performances, but other than the barefoot cha-cha, I thought the other routines were very well done. Although Cody was way too soft for
his hip-hop number, Melanie killed it. And even though Everett looked like he was tapping in a lot of points in the house routine, TJ did very well, and they
kept their very fast footwork clean and in sync.
This was easily the best performance night of the season, even if the last 2 were disasters. |

I was thrilled that Stacey Tookey used Cinematic Orchestra for her contemporary piece this week. To Build a Home is a song worth hearing, that's for sure.
I also liked the concept and the costumes - I just wish that her choreography was as good as last week's. Overall, she's doing well this season.
She's extremely consistent.
