Oh , but don't you see? This is exactly what I don't get about this place.
I post something (okay, it was too long, I admit it), and approximately 35 low-lifes jump on the thread with utter garbage that freezes your computer, and sprinkled among that madness are ~5 compliments or neutral observations, and about 5 relevant attacks/flames/jokes against me. I can handle the attacks/flames/jokes - no biggie. It's that when I actually stand up for myself against the low-lifes posting wikipedia articles thinking they are funny, I get beaten over the head with the "How dare you talk down so condescendingly!" responses, with one or two things I say repeatedly thrown back in my face. Basically, it took about 50 posts to get any serious responses, constructive or destructive, and by then, thread over. I lost interest. And who can blame me?
I also don't feel so bad abandoning a message board where several people here have made absolutely horrific jokes about Ethan, Jenn Lyon, Timber Tina, Lydia, etc. You know exactly what I am referring to. I'm not talking about stuff like "I hated them on Survivor" or "They sucked at this game" or stuff even worse than that like we see in most other threads. I'm talking just some absolutely nasty shit being posted that should make any normal person's stomach turn.

As far as some of the more vile things posted here, I'm from the school of just walk on by if you don't like it.

Edit to add: Think of it this way--- the flamers who annoy you are doing you a service by bumping your thread and giving laughs to people who share in their humor. This ups the probability that people will read your thread and engage in a debate with you. So the flamers are really doing your thread a service. Way better than having your thread ignored.
