it didn't suck, it wasn't the best I've seen - it seemed awkward, like a pilot episode. They should've thrown in a goat or summat.

It seems like the premiere episodes for HIMYM are never the greatest, because they always have so much to cover from the previous season.
With that being said, I still loved this episode. Lily wanting Barney and Robin to have the talk was Loved the date with Robin and six pack guy, where it showed Robin screaming and yelling at the hockey players. I think this Barney and Robin thing will be fun this season. They are so dysfunctional that I am sure they will be getting into all kinds of problems. As I have always said, this show is more of a dramedy. It has a storyline of a regular drama but its actually a sitcom. Usually when the episodes are not as funny, its because they are busy following the storyline. |

Women are like Gremlins....
I liked the Barney and Robin stuff. Pretty much made the episode... Ted was OK, Lilly was good and Marshall solid. |

Yes to the Gremlins title. That bit was STELLAR.

How about "It's back -- OUTDOOR WOO!"?
The Gremlins rules was the highlight of the night, agreeance on that. And oddly very useful. |

WOOOO! is always a good choice too.

WOOO! seems like an appropriate choice given that it's a new season and all.
But there ain't nothing wrong with the Gremlins either. I have got to start using flugal horn. |

All the big Monday night shows came on line last night, so it's a good time to stare at those 18-49 ratings:
6.5 House
* Fans have had it with "Heroes," which took a non-heroic distant fourth place, falling another 46% from its season-three opener. 17 million viewers: "Heroes" second-season premiere
* Last week "The Jay Leno Show" was the highest-rated Monday show on the big four networks. This week it was the lowest. * "Big Bang Theory" is, at least for the moment, now TV's top sitcom, up last night 28% from its 2008 premiere * "House," up 14% from its 2008 premiere, gave Fox its first-ever opening-night-of-the-fall-season win, according to the Hollywood Reporter. * Weevil Navarro > Chuck Bass. CW darling "Gossip Girl" pulled 2.1 million total viewers last night, while the final season of the CW's "Veronica Mars" averaged 2.5 million viewers three seasons back. * President Barack Obama's appearance on "Letterman" drew 7 million viewers, the biggest audience for "The Late Show" since Dave and Oprah patched things up on air four years ago. |

Sorry for the delay in the title update folks - P'ha just brought me back to TV season. :) Enjoyed the first ep quite a bit, can't wait to see where
they go.
For those discussing the singing thing - I saw an extra somewhere where Aly & Michelle Trachtenberg both requested as little singing as possible in OMWF, which is why they basically do none during that Buffy ep. |

How I Met Your Mother turns 100 episodes old this January, and it's marking the occasion by handing fans the mother of all gifts: some major intel about
the show's titular mama.
"There is some serious Mother action in episode 100," reveals executive producer Craig Thomas. "It'll be the closest Ted's ever come to [discovering who she is]. He's getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] kind of go bananas with it." Although Thomas won't outright confirm that Ted's future wife will be unmasked, he hints that he and fellow exec producer Carter Bays "are spending a lot of time trying to cast the female role in Ted's story for episode 100." And if that's not enough to keep viewers entertained, the milestone episode will climax with what Thomas calls a "big-ass musical" number headlined by the show's resident song-and-dance man, Neil Patrick Harris. "There will be a huge Barney story culminating in an enormous musical number that we're going to spend way too much of Twentieth Television's money on," Thomas says with a laugh. "Fans of Neil's performance at the Emmys will enjoy the ending of the episode. It's not a musical episode, but all of a sudden it becomes one. It'll probably be one of the craziest things we've ever done on the show." If I didn't know better, I'd say episode 100 is going to be… this is the second time I'm breaking my promise to never do this again, but I really can't resist… episode 100 is going to be… forgive me God for I have sinned… episode 100 is going to be… legen - wait for it - dary! |

The Third Doppelganger!!! Thread title pleas.e Lesbian Robin and Mustache Marshall are amazing. I cna't wait for the reveal of the final 2.
Great ep. I actually liked the Ted story for once. The idea of going over a previous bad date to figure out what went wrong using 'flashbacks' was a great touch. The Chewbacca stuff was so-so. Lily's excitement over her stripper doppelganger was perfectly Lily. |

the previous date girl was awesome (Lindsay Sloane) I've met her and she's so sweet. The dressed up cats thing would have definitely been a
dealbreaker, though. I loved the imagined wedding with the cats all in bridesmaid dresses, haha.
They really didn't resolve the Barney/Robin issue, which kind of bugs me. I feel like Robin should not be terribly surprised at this point about something like Barney going to a strip club, which he would be unlikely to change just because he's in a relationship. You don't whip a man that fast, girl. Still, getting introduced to J-J-J-Jasmine was worth it. I totally wonder if there is a doppelganger of myself out there sometimes because whenever someone says "you look just like someone I know", I am always curious just how similar we look or if their perception is just horribly distorted. |

Robin being upset about Barney going to the strip club was lame - didn't she and Ted go to one together or summat??
Other than that obvious misstep the episode was funny. What issue is outstanding with Barney and Robin? I've never met my 'doppelganger' but I've been told we look eerily alike - to the point that people mistake us for each other. |

Ted's storyline was great, and Stripper Lily was a hoot. Plus I enjoyed how Barney simply ignored his problems with Robin, as he was still full-on Barney
here without forcing more relationship drama in this episode.
Marshall's sexual fantasy where he killed off Lily is probably one of my favorite moments from the entire series. |
