Count me in on the "quietly liking the new status quo" group - there's far less soap opera crap now and it kinda feels like the show's found
itself once again.

I liked the biker ep, too. I guess Brass must've boinked the wife when she was emotionally separating from the undercover cop biker. He knew she had motive to get him killed, but didn't know for certain until they found the video of her placing the call. Still, I knew the second they framed the redhead getting into that old car that it was going to blow up. CSI's usually better than that. Loved Laurence Fishburn on the motorcycle. This guy may be the best actor on television right now. I can't believe I'm looking at the same teenage riverboat gunner from Apocalypse Now. The Star Quest remains the best ep of CSI I've seen in a long, long time. |

I finally watched the skydiver episode.
wow. that guy's fall to earth and the way they filmed it was one of the best openings to any show I have ever seen. Awesome, awesome episode. |

Season finale with the lameass '80's chips was a letdown, although I love love love it when CSI examines the casino culture, particularly classic
casino culture.
I still wanna know if the antiquities dealer is still in jail -- self defense or what? Too bad Dr. Langston had to kill a perp. But since when do any CSI's have to shoot, anyhow? The premise, the foundation, of the show is that they are not cops. |

They bend that all the time, though. We've seen them shoot, we've seen them in interrogation sessions, we've seen them do pretty much anything a
cop does.
Nick is the new Warrick. Warrick used to get shuffled off screen all the time, like the writers didn't know what to do with him, and now we're beginning to see Nick's screen time plummet. I know they needed to make time to introduce the newer cast members, and they've been giving Hodges and Webster more screen time, but it still seems like he's being slowly pushed into a marginal role. |

Another disappointing season finale - but I love me some Gerald McRaney. Nick Stokes has been used minimally for a very long time, it was just blatantly obvious this week. When they use him, he's there for practically the whole episode (the Quentin Tarrantino episodes) and the Hotel storyline of a few weeks ago. Typically, he's in the background, in the lab or just taking photogs, very little dialogue. wonder who he pissed off. Somehow I get they feeling the producers never forgave him for wanting that raise years ago. |

From Ausiello:
Question: What's this I hear about some unexpected surprise coming out in the CSI premiere about Sara? -Encarni Ausiello: She got hitched to Grissom when no one was looking. But that's old news. Here's some (relatively) new news from exec producer Naren Shankar: "Do not miss the first two-and-a-half minutes of CSI season premiere. It will blow your mind. It may be one of the most incredible things we've ever put on film. It's so beautiful and it's so cool." Question: Any chance Jorja Fox may stick around full-time on CSI? Five episodes isn't enough. -Brian Ausiello: I posed that question to Shankar, and, based on his evasiveness, I would say it's probably being discussed. "I honestly can't say [for sure] at this point," he told me. "All I will say is we're having a great time and I think Jorja is having a great time. I think she's having more fun now than she did before. Having a little space from something, you get to clean your palate and be refreshed as an artist." |

That slo-mo scene was pure art. I replayed it about 5 times. It was funny that there were so many major character high points and so little coming out of the
effort. Hodges protecting Wendy with his body, The Doc going caveman on the Russian mob with his cane. Fishbourne going all Morpheus ninja-like.
It was a rare moment to like Sara (she makes me Sue-a) Sidle, with Nick Stokes and their OK Corral gun play. |

That slo-mo scene was fucking brilliant. Just fucking brilliant. I want to know the technology behind it because I thought (at first) that it was CGI.

Yeah the first 2 minutes was amazing. Well done, once again CSI. It's been flipflopping from good to bad over the past season so hopefully they maintain
the quality at this level.
I love how they so easily dropped and ditched Riley with Catherine just stating that she had left. They also dropped Veronica (the black CSI chick) after like 4 episodes with no explanation. |

Riley was the worst written character in a long while, which is sad, because the actress seemed better than the sum of her character's writing.

Who decides to leave a high paying job/easy job in this tough economy? She should try selling her ass out on the Vegas strip, she then might realize what she has... Whatever happened to the black mortician on CSI: Miami? The junkie who screwed up last season, stealing drugs from the dead? |

I had no idea that freeze frame stuff was going to be happening in the first two minutes and was blown away. Truly incredible stuff -- if anyone trips across
an article on how they did it, post it.
But then Garrett D. shows up. He's the killer. Game over. This series has always had trouble keeping multiep story arcs running, except maybe for Lady Heather. But that's one of its charms. I'm still pissed awf about the miniature killer, though. And yeah, the crime was a stretch, but not completely into CSI Miami idiocy. I love this ensemble these days. |

It took me a bit to realize Garrett also played Mason Turner on Criminal Minds season finale.
I hate Katherine, I hate Sara - we need females that I like - if that's possible - how about Gabrielle Union, I liked her in Life. Or Sarah Shahi |

I believe the inspiration for the opening was this film- it won awards last year and is pretty incredible.

Another show I watched last week also did a freeze frame thing - but I can't remember which one.

the freeze frame camera angles was pretty cool. I like seeing Sara, but only for a few eps.
I'm glad Nick was promoted but they need to quit harping on Sanders. I want him to have more screen time. So long Riley! I didnt like her character at all. |
