Thus, you've proven my point that an ASS season does not increase ratings now. So why not have back second chancers?

The only reason I'd want a Second Chance season would be to give people a shot who never had a shot due to lame twists (like Wanda and Jonathan) or who
were evacuated. It sounds all nice and fair, but I'm not sure it would make great TV. Survivor isn't in the business of giving people who left the game
unfairly a second chance. They're in the basis of making money, so that means we aren't ever going to be seeing Wanda on Survivor again, people. Stop
dreaming.

There is a roster of TV gold you can dig from the premerge boots. Just Imaginr if all the loudmouths and Craziers were on the same tribe. The merge episode
will be pretty epic too.

Don't know if it's been brought up, but CBS also has the Super Bowl next year (2010) they had it for the first ASS season too (wardrobe malfunction,
anyone)? It might entice all of those casual viewers who might have forgotten the show was still on to become viewers...again. Plus they have the 10 year thing
as well.

I thought of this too and it makes perfect sense, CBS doesnt have many great 1 hour dramas other than the CSI's and the Mentalist. Putting survivor on after the Super Bowl boosts rating, which it definately needs, and since its all stars maybe more would watch. I think its a very interesting idea, and on like Monday I sent an email to Michael Ausiello on EW to see if he had any inside info, hopefully he answers back. |

I don't want them putting survivor after the super bowl unless there are no 3rd timers.
Plus it doesn't even help in the ratings. The ratings were average for the office which was the program that followed the SB last year. |

They're more likely to give the post-Super Bowl slot to a newer show like The Mentalist or The Big Bang Theory. There isn't much upside to using that
spot for a show in its 20th season.

I would totally not be surprised if Survivor is given the post Super Bowl slot, and I hope it is.

I would not mind at all if the Big Bang Theory was post super bowl, it is an amazing show. TheEasyOne, your right that the Office didnt have big ratings after the Super Bowl episode, but the episode itself got a ton of viewers, problem is that the show wasnt that good, and I love the Office. Too many gimmics. If they put Survivor on and they have a great premiere then it could get viewers to stay, especially if they watched some seasons and see that some of their past favorites was on. Like people who watched Pearl Islands 6 years ago might have loved Rupert, and after a few more seasons they stopped watching the show. They see Rupert they may start watching again. And forgive me all for using Rupert as an example, i needed to use an older season character. Boston Rob might have been a better example in retrospect |

I'd rather watch the Survivor premiere at its regularly scheduled time then have to wait until 10:30 or 11:00 to see it. Besides, the only show recently to
get a huge ratings lift from the post-Super Bowl slot was Grey's Anatomy. House, Criminal Minds and the Office didn't really get much of a boost.

They got a huge boost for that episode, from like 15 million to 40 or 50 million. Criminal Minds and the Office just werent good episodes, therefore nobody
tuned in to watch the next episode. I don't remember House's epi but i figure it was good. Id guarantee Survivors ratings would increase from like 10
million viewers an episode to about 15-18 million if the premiere is any good

^ unforunately tv doesn't work like that. every single show is down in ratings b/c either no one has any time to watch or they don't give a shit. it's dying like the radio. |

I agree Prettygoodyear the only people I would like to see back were the ones that got a raw deal somehow. The thought of seeing some of
these guys a third time just turns me off. Would love to see some early boots back too.

I really want the Second Chance thing because there were strong, epic characters that were booted WAY TOO EARLY. I mean they're not gonna shove in random
unmemorable people. A cast with the likes of Linda & Lindsey from Africa, Ghandia, etc. would be pretty cool.

So this is the cast list... Heroes: Villains: I wish they'd include had included more Samoans in the cast. Colby, Rupert, James, Cirie (as much as I <3 her), Amanda should not be in the cast. Same for Rob, Jerri, Parvati Stephenie is the only one imo that deserves a 3rd chance since she's the only person on this list that's been both a hero AND a villian. this season will suck if it does happen with these people. why can't Shane, Twila, or Peih Gee come back? Why is Danielle considered a villian? this is so stupid. |

I kinda wish Lex would return, so we can all bond to hate him some more.

I think SOME 3rd timers are good. Frainkly, even though we dont like them, some DO deserve to be there.
