That said, though, oddly enough some of the spoilers are probably pretty good speculation. And if anyone would like to speculate how S20 will play out based entirely on fore-knowledge of the players, I'd love to hear some thoughts.
Assuming the cast list at truedorktimes.com is accurate (as well as the theme), I think there are some deductions that can be made:
1. Boston Rob can not win this game, and will likely be an early boot. ... And Tom is probably early jury.
2. Parvati (yuck) will likely go far. Again.
3. Rupert will likely go far. Again.
4. Someone like Sandra or Sugar has the potential to either make the jury or be an immediate boot -- but not win the season.
5. One of the lesser-known girls (unfortunately) very likely will win the season.
Reasoning:
1. Rob has shown over two seasons one very certain type of play. There's no reason to think he'll change for S20. He's just too arrogant. No one trusts him, and he won't be handed the game with only the sheep players remaining again. Barring a miracle, he's gone immediately. And Tom: He'll probably be seen as an asset early on, but once it's time to shake things up, he has by far the biggest target on his back of any player in the game on S20 (a la Hatch in the first All Stars). Even pleading his case to fellow heroes will probably not be enough.
2. Parvati, despite winning a season, will probably be largely ignored in lieu of bigger villain fish to fry (see above). There's also a very plausible chance that once she gains numbers of women vs. men she'll run the villains tribe -- or try to. And I don't see any of those girls trying to stop her.
3. No one will be threatened by Rupert this time. They've seen two seasons where tribes could drag him along for a vote, then be able to toss him when he's served his purpose. Here's to guessing this is a third season with a similar thought process. The one real question: Has Rupert learned how to play and actually take charge strategically? If so, he can win the game.
4. Sanda and Sugar have shown themselves to be very independent players who aren't Alliance-driven. I can't see how this season could remotely benefit that style of play when everyone knows each other and will no doubt form very strong alliances. It's one thing to be an independent in a season where everyone is just meeting and the pieces (read: players) are mobile. It's quite another when the lines will be drawn from day one. Which is funny because I think someone like Chris (Vanuatu) would probably have had an amazing chance to win S20, but only because he'd be open to shifting alliances and working his way in in a "faux sincere" way. Sandra and Sugar, though, both show their cards too easily.
5. As much as I'd love to hope that #5 isn't the case, history has shown us what usually happens on an All Stars edition. Should the Heroes tribe run the table, though, oddly enough this won't be the case. But if it's remotely close, or the villains have numbers, it's pretty fair to say it will be.
Thoughts on other players? Rebuttals? Further discussion? Fire away.
Just my insight. :)
