The reward not taken seemed to be things like survival tools, cooking pots and utensils. When the comfort items get wet and dirty, those cooking utensils will
start looking really good.

Okay here's where I got wind of it - page 5 of the edgic thread:
This is a quote from Skydreamer: cindidindi76 wrote:I can't find the exact interview, but he said something along the lines of "I think the winner won't be the nice guy, fan favorite like JT and Bob, the people here came to play from day one and they kept their words" |

Jeff made that comment on day 2 or 3 though, while TV Guide was filming their promo stuff. He thought the cast was not going to let a "nice guy"
walk away with the win. (And his assessment seems to be correct so far.)

That is awesome news Kirblar. Thank you!

Is there a place that has uploaded episode 3 already? My DVR didn't record it!

Two immediate thoughts. Russell has shown that he's not too arrogant to adapt. and go with the group. I don't think he's going anywhere till at
least the merge. Liz kicked butt in that challenge. She's not going to be seen as "weak". Thanks for the great PBP, Trixiego!

Russel was born at night but he wasn't born last night. His actions tonight, to me, were more impressive than anything else he has done on the show so
far.
First off, Russ has been playing two sides brilliantly. Ben/Liz and Jaison/Mick. He hasn't targeted any of the four instead focusing on what he would perceive to be loose cannons as far as his game went. Marissa, Betsy (and this week Ashley) were all threats to Russ's game and he knew/knows it. If anyone instigated a plan to take out Russ it would have been Marissa or Betsy. However Russ is also smart enough to see which way the wind is blowing. And tonight he saw early that Jaison was not to be swayed. He knew that the more he argued, the greater the potential was that he would become a target. Instead he backs off. I do believe that if Ben had shut up at TC, Russ and Mick may have held with the plan to vote out Ashley (with Liz and Russ). However two things happened. Jaison drew a line in the sand and Ben was a jerk. I noticed there were glances at TC between Russ and Mick. Jaison was very articulate in his attack on Ben and Ben's comments sealed his fate with everyone. Russ must have realized that Ben was no longer an "asset" and "threw him away" like so much trash. Up until the 2nd vote for Ben was read (Ben was clearly surprised) I believe he thought that no matter what he said, he was going to be staying. Russ meanwhile is still strong with Liz, Mick and Jaison. Jaisons show of "leadership" though has made him a threat to Russ. It's going to be interesting to see how Russ plays it now. But I have to say his play tonight was very, very smart. |

Trix - You didn't "miss" the final show of the vote. For some reason they didn't show it. Darn. As usual, a wonderful job. ;-)

I was absolutely cheering tonight for Jaison! The guy is very smart! Is he smart enough to win this game? I don't think so. His ethics are too strongly
instilled in him, but he got rid of Ben and that's good for me. By smart enough to win the game, I do not mean intelligence. Jaison will not win because he
chooses ethics.
Yet, I doubt Russell, ER, will win either. He may be playing but he's playing stupid. As far as he's concerned, They can lose every time and he will control it. But has he thought about going into the merge numbers down? Dumb ass. He needs a switch more than anyone there does. For the first time, ER had to change what he wanted to have happen. I can't wait to see what happens next. |

I think that the JP comments about the winner and not being a fan favorite (paraphrased) came from JPs blog. It was either the first of second one and darned if I can remember which one. The thread of JPs blogs used to be easy to find here but I can't locate it quickly. He did have quite the discussion about how some years you get the fan favorites like JT who win and other years not so much. I don't recall whether he actually said that this year a not so favorite Survivor would win or if he simply left the door open. The impression was that it more than likely would be someone who wasn't obviously pegged as a winner. I think this was the same blog where Jeff said that he didn't get to know Ben well enough and that Ben was "probably" a nice person. He also termed Ben a "likable" bully but he wouldn't want Ben knocking on his door. |

i'm curious to know if she found the empty nail in the tree. they didn't show it, of course, but with the length of time she spent there, i can't
see how she wouldn't have seen it.

I was wrong about the JP blog. His first blog was where he talked about Ben being a bully and not getting a chance to get to know him. I'm still looking around for where he talks about the winners.... some being "good" and fan favorites and others not so much. |

Thankx for the props, Mr. Wizard! WOW! We all must take a moment to pause and be glad to welcome The Wizard who is Stephen from Tocantins himself to the MESS
Hall.
*bows down* To a great Survivor player and a true original! And I'm glad we're so N Sync about things. Yeah, Russevil wised up tonight in a surprising move. He's playing the game all right. And he knew he needed Dr. Mick and Mr. Fantabulous- Jaison to help him along. As I'm sure The Wizard would be the first tell us, Survivor is a game about ALLIANCES! But we haven't seen a Stephen/JT like alliance...yet... And is that Evil Russell's face flashing in Samoan make-up at the end of the opening credits?!? I hope not. But it sure looks like him. Ugh. But the Wizard likes how he's playing the game...Hmmm... Again Stephen, Welcome! This isn't a number's game like Edgic. And everyone is VERY polite and like Edgic VERY smart. Like you! And Trixie's Typing, the PBP is an astounding feat of endurance, in and of itself, week after week, season after season. What would be do without her? |

If that's the end game then F-F must kick it into gear ala Chuay Ghan, or there is a switch. Russhole is playing a good game. He's just not playing the game CBS has been trying to portray. He burns Jaison's sock, and yet some way Jaison still has socks (also against the rules to destroy someone else's property). Ben and Liz were just as behind Marisa's and Betsy's boot. And he does not find the Hidden Idol until after Yasmin showed up with her clue.

OK, this is how that "Flint" thing is supposed to work, in fact buy one for your self from Wal-Mart
for three bucks and read the directions.
I timed myself once and can do the entire process in 15 seconds. I easily made four separate fires within a minute. It is not hard to do at all if you have dry material to ignite.
So I ask you, if you know you are going to be on the show … why the f- do you not go down to Wal-Mart, invest three bucks, and practice making fire? You can do this on the kitchen table, tearing up paper and putting it on a dinner plate just for practice.
Sheesh this drives me nuts!
