Yeah, those are the only pairs where no one has a repeat partnership, except Emanuel + TJ.
Anyway, the group routine was one of Tyce's usual messes. And all the solos were pretty meh (Everett needs to pick more appropriate solo songs for tap).

Poor Kim; ending the competition on such a low note (Cody deserved it, but not her). It's like so many of her weaknesses were exposed in one routine, and now, after 7 weeks, that's all she has to show for her ballroom skills, with no chance to improve, or show it was a fluke.

I don't why people are disappointed that Emmanuel was not in the bottom: it's not like he deserved to leave over Cody, so that only means he his fans would power vote for him next week. Everett taking his place almost guarantees that Everett will make the final 4 (his fans will rally). Melanie being in the B4 last week most likely helped her this week.

Emmanuel being at the top only increases his chances of leaving next week. But if he takes Vincent's spot in the finals...

Cody's vote will go to the other half of... "Melody" (I hate saying those names), or Vincent, the other teen dream. My only reservation against cheering for Vincent is that a lot of tween voters love him too, and these are the same idiots who voted for people like Cody, Miles, and Nico, and who hated dancers like Natalli. I feel uneasy agreeing with them, although I legitimately think Vincent is the best dancer this season; Edward Norton lookalike or not (and he's been the only cute guy for a while... not that that influenced my opinion or anything).

Kim's votes will most likely go to either Vincent or JR (the Quebec connection), with JR getting more of them because she's also from Montreal (apparently they both have a lot of fans from there areas, so now there will be no overlap).

That was a decent evening. I missed the girls group routine, but the guys was, well, I've always defended Emanuel, but seriously, Vincent and Everett should have gone on by themselves; it was like they were both in sync, and both performing well, while Emanuel was off doing his own routine on the side of the stage. I wouldn't say Everett stole the show, but only because Emanuel stole so much attention with his weak dancing.

I must say, I missed parts of it, but that salsa looked really good; cool, clean lifts, quick connections and turns, and lots of sexyness. TJ and Vincent were easily the best couple of the night. I didn't necessarily love their contemporary piece, although it didn't seem as manipulative as some of the other "emotional illness" pieces. Vincent was strong, but didn't do as much as TJ, who killed it.

And Blake... didn't we have this routine last year? Only better? Like wow, it's a cameraman instead of a photographer; groundbreaking stuff, Blake. The quickstep was... well, Mary judged it very fairly actually. It was nice when they weren't in hold, but when they were...ew. I realized that the judges only seem to criticize Emanuel... so I think we know who they want gone (hopefully JR isn't collateral damage). Oh, I finally saw JR's mambo, and it confirmed that I want her in the finals over Melanie. It wasn't amazing or anything, but it was good, and not a disaster like Melanie's, and even though youtube videos have a way of making the dances look cleaner, I doubt they cleaned it up that mch.

And Melanie and Everett, well, they had the weakest choreography. I think they did what they could. Luther ended his hot streak this season, and Malissa has been a huge disappointment. It's like her and Sean Cheesman switched brains since last season. Melanie also did her mouth thing too much in hip-hop. I understand she was trying to be fierce and sexy, but she overdid it (although she danced the hip-hop well). Someone I was watching with (who never saw this version) said Melanie looked like she got tired in the punk jazz.

As for the solos, TJ had the only good female one (although Jessica from season 2 did a very similar solo to the same song, and it might have been better). JR did that thing where she looks like she is preparing to do a series of pirouettes, and then only does two (oh wait, she did three this time), before going out of it. And Melanie had a very week solo. It just felt so... forgettable. The guys fared better. Everett started out great, but then he really stopped doing much (the friend I was watching with walked into the room only during the second half, and was none too impressed). And he needs to pick better songs to tap too; you couldn't even hear his tapping most of the time. Vincent gave his best non-jive solo yet, although I really wish he did a jive, since he was ending the show, and that would have made him very memorable to voters, but it was very fun. Emanuel made it really obvious what he spent the most time on this week; he was really good, although licking the stage was a bit much, and he overdoes his performance a lot. He and Melanie really need to learn how to perform with more subtlety, but before that, they need to leave... like, tomorrow.

Either way, this season has been underwhelming, I am happy that it ends soon.
