Normally I would agree--I think the Skupin, Bruce, and even Joe evacuation episodes were all pretty excellent (even though Joe's was dealt with as more an afterthought than anything else--but with all the crazy plotting that went on, no TC actually was the best way that episode could've ended). But by that point in Micronesia, we'd already seen one person leave by evacuation (and another left outside of TC as well). The faster they got the inevitable out of the way, the better.

Not to mention, the evacuations themselves are treated with a lot less drama in actuality than they used to be. Mike and Bruce--those were intense and threw the players for a complete loop. Nowadays all that happens is Jeff casually asks them to stay behind after a challenge, "I want medical to take a look at that," then the team comes in, checks the vitals, says something about how if this goes untreated it could lead to death, the player shrugs, and the game moves on as if they'd never been there in the first place (they didn't even mention Borassi's evacuation in the third episode recap). It says a lot about the producers' outlook on the game and the challenges they design nowadays that they actually plan for one or two people each season to quit or get evacuated and increase the cast size for it.
