LOL. Apparently VolcanicGlass and I were making the threads at the same time. Coz the first time I checked, this thread weren't there.

But anyway, yeah this eps is supposedly where a person got medical attention. Will they be medevaced? That's the question.

Are there other surprises coming up with this season?
It's a physical season. We have two medical evacuations. Some people push themselves harder than their bodies can take, and our doctors are telling us that infections are spreading more now and these things are really happening. I remember James [Clement] got pulled for having an infection in his finger to which I said, "We are going to lose one of our stars?" And the doctor said, "He's going to lose his hand." They say they are not changing their protocol but the world is changing. In Samoa we had 115 degrees every day and a period where for a week it rained nonstop and they had no water. We had one of the scariest moments ever for me on one evacuation. I was really scared.

The final version of the challenge, shown here being test-blocked by the Dream Team, involves one contestant being strapped inside the giant ball, with two other (blindfolded!) contestants pushing it. So the rolling person has to shout directions to her tribemates. After rolling a brief distance, they reach a tilting maze table, in which the (still strapped into the ball) non-blindfolded contestant must then guide the rollers and two more blindfolded tribemates in navigating a ball into a hole in the maze.

Ya I think it's evacuation related and not particulaly related to Jaison unless he's the medevac. The magazine article says the challenge does not finish, and a scary evaluation is just cause.

Noteworthy: By the time the actual contestanst played the game, it worked beautifully - until unrelated dehydration caused one of our players to collapse and Jeff Probst had to stop the challenge to get the person immediate medical attention (see what happens Oct. 22 on CBS). So, after all that, we never even got to see "Roll With It" play through to completion.

For reference, here is the EW article which was posted in another thread earlier.
In summary, the Reward challenge had to be stopped when one player collapsed due to dehydration. The challenge was never completed.

missyae posted that Russell S leaves due to a past injury, but it's most likely due to the aforementioned dehydration.

To be resolved: between E5 and E6, three players should leave, in order for the merge/Jury numbers to work out. Since the interrupted challenge was RC, it is likely the IC was run and a second player departed during the E6 cycle.

Yes, they have to have a double boot episode before the jury starts. Considering they apparently merge at F12 (when the jury also starts) - and there has never been a double boot episode with a merged tribe -
they need to lose 3 people as of episode 6. One this episode, second one is evacuated next week, and the third one should be booted the same episode.

Yeah, they'll probably pull some kinda stunt post-merge, where the Immunity winner gets a note, saying you can either assign immunity to one other person or risk a double elimination or something weird, random, and possibly retarded like that.

Either that, or if missyae is correct that Erik is the first Jury member, perhaps the merge happens at 11 after Galu loses an I.C. and boot Erik--except I just can't see them booting Erik over Shambo at this point, so that seems unlikely. However, if his Idol is discovered, a blindside would make sense....

Why wouldn't there be an additional boot in episode 6?

Ep5: 1 booted, 14 left
Ep6: 1 evacuated, 1 booted, 12 left

The episode Joe was lifted from Tocantins, no one was booted.

I'm not saying there won't be a boot in the addition to the evac in this episode. I'm just saying that it's not a given.

The difference is that Tocantins had only 16 people and this season has 20. So they need soume double boot episodes just to fit it all in.

Of course. We know they need two more episodes with two exits if they're going to stick to a 13-episode season with an FTC of 3. Those will happen with or without unscheduled evacs.
