We never once went to church and I got to sleep in every Sunday morning, My husband's family are non-denominational holy-rollers and told their kids that when they turned 18 they could decide if they wanted to continue going to church, assuming of course that they would not even consider not going, and they both stoped on the first Sunday after they turned 18. That plan worked well.

I hated it but my parents held my car hostage and also took my paychecks as soon as i got themso I was sort of fucked into attending. Now? Hell no. Haven't set foot in a church since a wedding about 5 years ago. Never would force my kids to go. If they want to- well they can go when they are old enough. Lots of Moms I know make a big deal about going and dragging their 2 and 3 year olds, go do all the Catholic ceremonies and shit but do they actually follow through with what they are preached? No. I guess that pisses me off. If you are going to commit- then do it. Do what they say you should do, don't cherry pick the shit that fits best into your schedule.

Yeah, "moderate" christians are fucking hilarious. Too lazy to formulate their own philiosophy, and too undisciplined to actually live by biblical principles, they go to church once a week for a social outlet and get to tell themselves they are fine, upstanding folks. My favorite bible story is where Lot offered up his two daughters to be raped by a crowd of degenerates in order to save a couple of angels. Fucking hawt!

It was the worst thing in the world. I had a nervous breakdown in February 1996 (for personal reasons) and spent the better part of that month in a mental hospital. When I returned to society, as it were, I had to resume catechism so I could have my "First Communion". Technically, even though I had communion before starting catechism, I wasn't "instructed" in the Catholic faith beforehand, so that didn't count. The day came, and I choked on the wafer in front of everyone. It was so embarrassing. Of course, communion wafers are the most disgusting things that anyone could ever put in their mouths. I don't go to church anymore. I did attend Disciples of Christ meetings a few years ago, and was surprised that they actually used real bread and grape juice for communion. Real hunks of baked bread, and not those flat nasty shit wafers.
