I think I've read everything here, so why was everyone dissing Padma? What the hell did she do that was so much worse than everyone else? Or were they just
looking down on her? It was weird. Even if she was dressed like Buffy Saint Marie for the quick fire and the Bollywood Julia Roberts for the elimination
challenge.

LOL at Buffy St. Marie. Good call - that was a weird outfit (although I predict about 1/10 of this thread's posters will know who the hell you're
talking about).
I can't speak for anyone else, but she seems harsher to me this season - unnecessarily so. You can be critical without being condescending, and she seems to me to have lost sight of that. |

the thing is they have had off-handed Padma remarks several times. And IRL she does NOT seem like a warm person.

I thought they were foreshadowing that Bryan would go home at the hands of Michael (in some way). Particularly when they were barking at each other, and Kevin had a confessional about Michael perhaps leading to his brother's demise.I wouldn't be surprised. Someone pointed out that Collichio's blog at bravotv.com leaves on a note that implies a frontrunner may be out next week. He basically reiterates that it's not a cumulative contest and anyone can make a costly mistake at any time. Given the penchant to kick off one of the head chefs during restaurant wars week (which only makes sense sometimes but not in cases where they have to carry some deadweight contestant and the head chef pays for being unable to make that person cook better), it's possible either Jennifer or Bryan have a heightened chance of leaving. |

Michael is running the kitchen, though. Remember, he says, "It is my kitchen."

It's definitely about that time for a front runner to go. I can' t wait for everyone to whine even harder about Robin remaining. She is glorious.

My point exactly, DSC. My guess is Michael is out this week, largely because of the sucky desert.

I think the only way either will be in the bottom 2 is if the other brother is there with them.
This storyline has dominated the season so far so it has to pay-off somehow. |

Well they are on a team together next week. They have showed Michael as a hot-head and an instigator. It will come to a head.

That's true.
I just fear its all more misdirection. Like the previews for last week had the brothers "fighting" but in reality it was really just more of the same. Whose the fourth member of their team? |

I am not enough of a TC "historian" to know the answers to these questions:
1. 8 episodes in, only 4 different people have won an elimination challenge. Is this an unusually small distribution of winners? 2. What is the earliest that an EC winner has ever been booted? |

great personality wrote:I could see Michael going, because at least he's been in bottom once. And the story line could pay off again if Michael comes back as Bryan's sous for the final. As for someone's misdirection comment: they always use misdirection. A few weeks ago we had Jen saying "I could be going home". And for this ep, before a commercial, they ran Toby's "hairy armpit" comment - would anyone have guessed that his comment was made during the winning segment of Judges' Table and not as a comment directed at a loser? |

f2goat wrote: Let me go to question #2, the earliest a EC winner has been booted Thanks to Wiki, it was Lia. She won in episode 4, but got booted in the next episode. #1 I remember in like season 3: in the first 8 episodes, Tre and Howie had a combined 5 EC wins.(Tre with 3 and Howie with 2) |

If Michael Voltaggio leaves next episode this season will have new life.

I really don't get why people would prefer to have chefs who are truly solid (if not great) go home while mediocre talent remains. The brothers, Kevin and
Jen are clearly the best chefs there. They SHOULD be the final four and I WANT them to be the final four. If Michael V (or any other of those four) goes home
prior to top four, I will be disappointed.

cginspace wrote:From what I've heard, you are correct. A friend of mine is the assistant of a chef who was a judge last season. According to her, she's a cold selfish bitch. But 10x prettier in person, if that's even possible. |

They do seem to be showing Padma as being a cold. Maybe this is in preparation to have Kelly Choi replace her for the regular seasons?
If the sweet gay guy says he wouldn't invite the model hostess to his restaurant, then I believe that Padma is likely a real bitch. Those idiots complaining about Robin, they should know better. Of course if all things are relatively the same at elimination they will keep the person who brings the most drama to the show!! Robin is the antagonist, and the producers have an easy storyline. So keep it up fatboys, keep up the friction with Robin, and they will only send her home at the very last possible moment. |

Padma is absolutely stunning in person. She is breathtakingly pretty. And she seems to live in her own little bubble, her own world. NOBODY esle seems to mean
a thing to her. Though I think she is close to her family; but she does not come across as warm or caring at ALL.... I at first thought that might be fear of
people wanting to know her strictly for her minor celebrity; but with time I have becme convinced that she is just not a very warm person.
And there is a certain part of me, Drew, that was really happy at the talent level this season. I LOVE seeing the dishes, and the ingenuity. It is at a very high level this season. After a while, though, the lesser ones started to blend together. From there the personalities meant more to me. I can say Robin's think out loud personality works far better for me than Eli's whining and Mike Isabutthead's self-congratulations. And it just becomes a chore to watch dour people like Mike V and at times his brother, too. As things progress, I want Jen C to win, and would be feeling lovely, as well, if Kevin won. The rest can go in almost any order because I am not very invested in them as people. |
