I don't know why Mark doesn't just ask his daughter if she knows who D. Gibbons is. Yeah, it might upset her, but she's the closest thing to a lead he's got. She might even have seen him directly in her FF or better yet, in her life thus far.

Also, this idea was mentioned before last week's episode, but I wanted to add my two cents. I don't think that the Somalia incident was a practice run for the blackout. Why would the practice have occurred 18 years prior to the real deal? It's probably just some similar phenomena that occurred before. Some terrorist group learned about it after the fact and decided to make it happen once again on a larger scale.

I don't know about the babysitter in specific, but I think that's an important point to keep in mind. We can't know whether to believe people when they talk about their flash forward. They could be lying, it could have been a dream, or they could just misinterpret what's happening. If everyone's flash forward is presented as they truly saw it without any errors or omissions, then I'll eat my hat.
