My view is that Trinity upon realizing that'd he'd been identified, bumped Lundy to confront his inner demon/dark passenger.
He immediately changed his killing tactics.
Thus him aping the vacation killer.
Oh heck ya I remember Lila. But the show did an effective job of closing that plotline off, Dex's international flight plans and timing excepted.
It's sort of the territory of Buffywathchers remembering details about a previous Big Bad when a later one manages to kill her. Twice.
