No no no.. I know I sound like one of those tinfoil hat wearing, "the ambassador from Mars told me through my toaster that everyone's IN on the conspiracy" nutbags.. but just hear me out.

Obviously, no one could know that something would happen to AJ. However, before they started taping, Kandi and AJ had already been making plans for their engagement party and so forth. Now, that can stir up a little bit of drama but probably not the excessive over-the-top table-flipping, "naked wasted", "you're down here, I'm up here" levels of drama the producers would be hoping for.

So, just for the sake of argument, suppose the producers said to 'em to just over-emphasize any doubts you feel (Kandi going on and on in her confessionals about mom and AJ not seeing eye-to-eye; mom walking out of the photo shoot; the therapy session.. I mean really, with HIPAA, what therapist is gonna allow a camera crew in her office?) or any conflicts there might be here and there and that will create artificial drama then, at the end of the season, everyone will make nice and the audience will be overjoyed because things finally worked out. Ta-da!

I just keep thinking I really didn't see that much real drama between mom and AJ but Kandi, in her confessionals, kept telling us how they didn't get along, blah blah blah..
