As far as tone goes for John, I didn't see any manipulation to his edit. He seems like an intelligent, likable, well-spoken person, but the editors didn't go out of their way to show him overtly positively unless we consider protecting Shambo to be positive. Even protecting Shambo has a caveat: she isn't allowed to fully know what is going on. Definitely a CP for his comments about how Monica and Laura have to be broken up before they can completely control the game, but I'm really not seeing tone manipulation.
On a non-rating related note, was it just me or did this episode center a ton around Foa Foa's comeback? Since we have already established that Mick is winning and that Russell and Natalie are in the endgame, this episode served to support our conclusions even more. When Jaison said that everything is aligned against Foa Foa and that they will probably be gone by day 21, Natalie said that she didn't think so and that she thinks that they can make the endgame. During the tribal council, there was a reaction shot of Mick, Natalie, and Russell sitting together and turning toward either Dave or Erik when one of them was going on about how Galu was going to dominate, and Russell's edit went from bitching about how much Foa Foa is a wimp tribe to how they are ready to stage a comeback in this game. Liz and Jaison probably aren't going to be around for much longer in this game (Jaison out by day 21 like he stated, perhaps?), but Mick, Russell, and Natalie are going to be around for a while.
I also saw Shambo as P this weak (and I find her annoying usually), given how she got positive SPV from John and Erik, whereas most of her Pness is usually from herself.
