And Heliox, that favorite dancer crap is... well... crap. The judges/producers only use it to keep the "legitimacy" of the show alive when a crappy dancer somehow makes it far, or an inferior dancer somehow wins. Like, Cody should not have made top 20, let alone top 8; even with that whole "favorite" dancer BS; it's a joke that he made that far. I wish more people would remember that the word "dancer" is still in that phrase, not just "favorite".
And Vincent made missteps (I never said he didn't... or did I? I forget): look no further than his hip hop with Everett to see him majorly screw up at the end. But TJ made plenty of errors as well (look no further than her piece with Everett last Tuesday). I just think Vincent was a better dancer... and in terms of personality, TJ was a little too crybaby-ish for my tastes. One thing I noticed is that Vincent never did a standard ballroom piece... I think, and the other three dancers only did one each, and it was a quickstep (the fastest of the ballroom routines). I wish we got to see them do something softer and smoother. Although, aside from a couple of waltzes and quicksteps, standard ballroom was completely discarded this season.
And I was quite happy that they did so many top 8 routines this evening, since I never did manage to watch any of them (I never felt compelled to). But that rumba from TJ... ugh. Was she that bad when she first did it? She was terrible, IMO. Her hip action was so stiff, if it even existed at all (and it made me less excited for her impending win). See, it's routines like that that made me think Vincent was the best. I'm just happy this season is over, though, since it was pretty forgettable.
And anyone who looks like Edward Norton is not fug (although he has gotten much less attractive as the season's progressed... I think it's his hair becoming longer, and more frizzy; he looks better with short hair). But at least Vincent won a car...
