For a great many its a fancy name for reading spoilers and basing your winner picks on that. :) And the deep, dark secret that the edgic people like to pretend didn't happen is that Jonathan and Ozzy had a ton of edgic support during Cook Islands. It was never the unanimous Yul victory that they'd have you believe. edgic made sense for that period of time because the winner kept being the same leading male. they kept editing the winner the same way and the other characters the same way. so it became more and more predictable. plus the assumption is always that the top dog is going to win, so it's lame when the top dog does win like in thailand/palau/ei/ci/fiji/china/tocantins. i agree though that edgic has been reduced to nothing now though. the only rule that remains is that the winner always has a good first episode which is still usually enough to narrow down the field to only a couple possibilities

Edgic only makes sense in hindsight for that period of time when you realize that for three straight seasons the exact same type of person won, the rather dull male leader who is strong, but not epically strong. It wasn't that they were editing the winner the same way, it was that the winner was the exact same person over and over again. Edgic completely fawns over that type of person, witness how ridiculously wrong they were with Marcus, who was again that exact same kind of character, and how Mick is their leading person this season, who is yet another dull male leader type. Its the exact same person over and over and over again. And thats not even taking into account their obvious influence from spoilers (proved once and for all in China when they picked Amanda, as their typical pick, which would have been Aaron, being gone pre-merge) and the fact that people like Ozzy and Jonathan got a lot more support than they'd have you believe after the season was over. Edgic hit a home run once since I've been here, Micronesia. 1 out of 8 seasons just ain't that good. :P If anything it points towards the show's unpredictability with the winner, we'd have had Stephenie, Amanda, Marcus and Stephen winning if it was predictable. :)

It's the current editing of this show that makes it predictable. Ever since Cook Islands (with the exception of Gabon and to a lesser extent Micronesia) it was obvious who the winner was by the end of the 3rd episode.

Yeah, thats why edgic was so spot on the last few seasons. Wasn't it great when Marcus and Stephen won?
