(At least I have my priorities straight...) Eric certainly wasn't neutral in the ep: He got the praying/rainbow scene, which was positive (except maybe his crack that Foa Foa couldn't see the rainbow in their camp.) But, he told us that Shambo was their patsy that they were going to keep in the dark. (Sham=P, so scene = small N) TC: Speech about carrying RussS's spirit into battle = P. Throwing it in FF's face = small N. Eric became a big player this episode. His story is kicking into high gear. Mixed represents all the facets that his character and story carry now. Eric - Mixed tone.

I agree that there are similarities in our problem this season: So many edits are too weak or lack key expectations by Edgic. A character is gobbling up all the screen time, etc... But, Brandon had lots of self-awareness confessionals, but lacked interaction with the others. He was a loner, which bothered us a lot. Gary had good vis patterns, but he was constantly talking game strategy and lacked the personal dialogue that Brandon was having. Mick lacks Gary's constant game talk and Brandon's self-reflection. I still say Mick resembles Ben's edit in Pirate Master: In the middle of the action, but mostly silent and non-committal. MOR bland blank slate.

Ben = Mick Christa = Natalie Jay = Russell H. Ben was actually a cool guy behind the boring MOR edit, and I think they could have used more if they wanted to -- but with Mick, they're struggling to make him as interesting as possible even with all the footage they have. I think Mick really IS boring. They can't even make him P for us, he's only been P for one episode out of 6. I think, minus a couple CP's here and there after the merge, his editing pattern will largely remain toneless, boring MOR. Also, would it really be a failure of Edgic guidelines if Shambo ended up winning, even with mixed tone in the pre-merge? Her edit actually is pretty decent otherwise and if Mick doesn't win, it has to be her. We know more about Natalie and Russell H.'s strategies than we do about Mick's. Everything we know about him was given to us right away -- he's a doctor, he's the "leader" of the tribe. Yet he was shown not being able to make fire.

"Natalie starts with a UTR1, followed by an INV1, and then makes the contenders list after a return to UTR? WHAT!" Then I can see the rebuttles from flf (Close-call deciders automatically get the elixer of life, so you'll still be alive): "Well, they had assumed there was this story between RussH and Natalie and that Natalie defeated him. Mick ended up winning, so coincidently that 'battle' really meant nothing to edgic which is finding the winner and not the losers." ;)

The proof is a couple of sentences. Fine - there have been theories bandied about here over the years based on even more tenuous evidence than that. But why is it assumed it's in the "end game" (by that I would assume its at F5 or fewer). Why not at F9? Why wouldn't this prediction of Natalie's defeat of RH come true at the merge, that all of this Russell crap was just leading up to his fall at the merge or shortly thereafter? I think of big players who left before the end game: Rupert, Jeff Varner, that other guy in Pearl Islands... heh... even people like Gretchen were big parts of the early season edit that didn't make end game. But no. With Natalie and RH there is this big push for "end game." I don't see much edgic evidence of that. Of course, lack of edgic evidence seems rather irrelevant to our proceedings this season. Like Rliss notes, "Weird."

EvilRussell has dominated this season MUCH MORE than Rupert or Fairplay did in PI (Varner ? C'mon now, scepticA ). That is why if ER gets defeated by anyone, it is quite reasonable to not expect this to happen at the merge or just after the merge. 2. Rilass is simply a troll. Ignore him.

I am certainly putting Shambo with him, as a large character doesn't concern me with a larger character covering her too. One thing I did notice was Betsy's "woman's intuition" taking Russell down. Clearly, Natalie, Monica, Laura, Kelly, Liz don't win. That left Shambo. But it merely means that last past him. It's no guarantee of a female winner, just that a woman plays a role in preventing Russell from winning. Which will be satusfying ad nauseum to the viewers. So it's Mick/Shambo, Shambo/Mick. Still thinking about that one. I will try to do a rewatch. I will also be doing rankings tomorrow, this weekend I am going to Florida. My grandmother died yesterday. (She'd been kicking cancer's ass for two years, and had nothing left to prove, as far as I am concerned. She was brave, and it had been on the horizon for a while.) So I'll have to hope quick rankings work for me. Michael

Why not at F9? I think you're quoting one of my posts, scep. Okay, by "end-game", I'm referring to anything after the merge. I have no clue as to what's going to happen, so any "predictions" I toss out into the great void known as "the future" are pure blah-blah. Lol. I don't see any reason for people to be getting all exercised over any Natalie talk. I think it's the consensus that she doesn't have a chance. The Natalie 3rd place thing is just a result of the way the voting site is constructed and voters dutifully plugging in someone's name to make up the blanks after "Mick", who is, what?, 97 point something, the choice of Edgic? I have no clue what the spoiler talk is, but if Natalie is somehow suggested as the winner and someone wants to tie their little ego and rep to that claim, good luck. Lol. I mostly think the Natalie talk in here is a combination of filling the in the time until tonight's ep and another version of "How many Monica's can dance on the head of a pin?". (edited because my first sentence made no sense.)

It was really specific.
