He made really good simple comfort food.

She might just fail because of the self-doubt. From the reunion dinner I saw: season 1: Harold, Tiffany, and I think Dave season 2: Ilan, Marcel 3: Casey, Dale, and Hung (why these 3 and not Tre..bring chocolate back) 4: all I saw was Richard 5: Fabio, Stefan, and Carla Hootie Hoo and Fabio FTMFW!

There was no color (that I could see on the crappy TV where I was staying) and it looked pretty grubby. I was glad it tasted great, but wish it had looked better. I hated both Michael/Mike last night. I'm over the whole VBros storyline anyway, but at least Brian seems somewhat less douche-like than his brother. I was amazed at the conversations that made it past the censors as well. Was it left to slide because it's Bravo, or was someone asleep at the wheel?

And huge fucking lol at Mike I leaving before Robin. Now Eli just has to go next and this season will be a success. Obviously, they are setting Jen up for an epic redemption arc, and she will end up winning the whole thing. BUT....in a Top Chef first, it will actually be a tie! And Jen and Kevin will be the first ever Top Chef co-winners.

Jen, oh Jen, what happened to her? She shows more personality, gets all cute and funny in confessionals but her cooking goes downhill. I guess Tom is right about this being the hardest part of the competition psychologically. It's getting to her. I hope she pulls through in the next ep and sprints to the end. She wasn't mentioned or seen in the preview, so she must do OK. If we can get rid of the brother who always wears the backwards baseball caps in confessionals, this show would be saved. Though honestly, I think the brothers are playing up their rivalry so that they get more attention.

I think they did it, because they saw she was cracking and they wanted to beat her down some more. They said her dish tasted really good. They just bitched that it was too small and that she was shaking while saucing it. They just wanted to pounce on her and make her squirm more. Actually, I didn't think her dish looked that much smaller than some of the others. Jen shouldn't take that last challenge as an epic failure like the restaurant wars. Her dish tasted really good, it was just too small. Focus on the positive and move on. I really want to see Michael V. eliminated before the F3. He is such an asshole knocking Kevin for winning. I cannot stand people who are both poor winners and poor losers. More of him losing before being eliminated would be great.

I don't see Kevin or Jen being effected by his obviously childish outbursts. Neither has shown tendencies to respond to tantrums. Jen's too focused on her own esteem issues to care, and Kevin has an abominable snowman to detooth. The only ones who get rankled by Mike's attitude are Robin and Bryan... which speaks to their own shortcomings.

But the rest deserve to be F4 for thier cooking skillz alone. It is TOP CHEF not TOP MANNERS! so douche or not, Volts are damn good chefs. BUT I really want Kevin to beat Mikey V. His whole attitude about comming in second was childish. Take a look at Eli who was sooooo thrilled to be in top for once!
