I've been watching the first 7 episodes as a casual edgicer, never rewatching any of them, but I've decided after last night's episode to end my casual edgicing and read up on this thread.

I see, not too surprisingly that Mick is the #1 choice, I came to the conclusion that him or Jaison win after 2 or 3 episodes, just because Gelu was clearly the wrong tribe to be on (they reminded me of Moto in Fiji before the swap, where they barely got any visibility, yet were 5 out of 7 of the F7, but didn't contain the winner), then Jaison's edit started to contain some hints that he was a quitter & he didn't want to be there which eliminated him.

There is one small problem I see with Mick's edgic ratings however. I am stunned that Mick has ZERO INV and ZERO UTR episodes, because Mick is just a boring nobody who hasn't gotten many memorable scenes all season. Sure he was the tribe leader, I remembered him for that, but I really don't remember him do doing anything anything else other then being there while action is taking place (like Russell telling him how to vote).He's been very much in the background and overshadowed by others to me, and probably to a casual viewer as well (I didn't even read up on who was who at the CBS survivor site before the season, I've learned the names of everyone from watching the shows & promos for the show). I wouldn't be surprised if at least 25% of casual viewers didn't even know who Mick was. How Mick avoided an UTR is a big question mark to me.

Also I'm surprised by all of the comments about Samoa possibly being the worst season of Survivor ever, I think it's a half decent season that's about average so far. I might have a different opinion though if I were doing edgic ratings for every episode, I can see how it must be frustrating having one guy getting 95% of the winner vote every episode, though 95% of the edgic vote does make me wonder if we're overlooking something and we've got another Gary who leaves in the middle of the merge.

In terms of development, of the 8 remaining on Galu it would go:

1. Shambo
2. Erik
3. Dave
4. Monica
5. John
6. Laura
7. Kelly
8. Brett

What are you suggesting we know about Monica or Kelly as people, craig?

I must disagree with your list Blake. As a casual viewer/edgicer up till now I couldn't even tell you that there was a Erik, Dave, John, or Brett on the Gelu tribe. Nor could I say there was a Kelly. After this episode I can say there is a Laura. Monica I remembered after she got targeted in a previous episode. I remember that one of the guys found the HII on Gelu, but I couldn't tell you who, somehow Erik rings a bell, but I don't remember for sure. I knew who Black Russell and Yasmin were before their boot episodes.Heck, even after two episodes of the guys making an alliance with Shambo I still can't remember who's who, if you said 'Erik' or 'John' I'd remember they were on the Gelu tribe, and that John was a rocket scientist, but that's it.

Question: I've read a few posts on Mick shown failing to start a fire (I read everything from episode 4 to here), what episode was that? That sounds like an important scene for the editors to insert to me.

By the way, anyone else notice that Evil Russel has gotten less N lately? He's lately seen as no longer just screwing people over for the fun of it, but as doing what's best for the tribe in the merge at getting them the numbers. Seems like the beginning of a postmerge edit change to me, slightly less N in his tone, more focused on survival and the numbers then screwing people over.He's so far been shown as doing all the work for his tribe at getting the numbers on their side
