I loved the stink eye that Rita gave the therapist when she said it was her fault too

"I hoped he'd change" = doom doom doom.
Not sure what to think of this episode. Didn't love it. Dexter trying to open up and figure out what the counsellor wanted to hear was pretty good. I don't really buy him 'learning' from Trinity. Obviously a different pathos, totally different creatures, and Dexter would know that. Which ties with the family thing, Lithgow is tortured and tries to get solace from his family. Dexter's never expected that, nor sought it. He just is and tries to blend in. Deb, of course, was dumb as a post, but finally caught on that it might not be the vacation killer. Should've rung big loud bells when she knew Lundy was on to his serial killer. It still doesn't seem apparent that that was Trinity, but it's obviously a trail worth pursuing. And Rita, Angel and LaGuerta all need to die so they're not taking up airtime. Let us pray. |

I've always had a soft spot for Rita but I've reached the end of that rope, too. She was harping at Dex to the point where I started planning it myself about where she needs to go and how to get there. But she can't die. If she dies then the kids will Dex's sole responsibility and then he's more tied down then ever. Dex needs to find a way to shut her up. Maybe threaten to leave - because you know she'd never make it without Dexter. |

^^^This is the actor playing Lithgow's son. Umm.  HELLO. Can we please see more of him? Like, on a weekly basis? Please. |

Ugh, this ep was just not good. I don't want Dexter in his nice little cage in the backyard, trying to learn from Trinity. It doesn't even make sense.
I"m starting to think Quinn might have killed Lundy. Don't even ask me why. My brain says Trinity, my heart says Quinn. And I don't need to see Lithgow nekkid every week. They should flash a warning before that. I couldn't care less about the LaGuerta/Batista storyline. Right now Deb is the only one acting in character. If Trinity stays alive and Dex kills others, that's fiine. Just move it along. |

McWolcott wrote:I really think it's Quinn now, too. I just don't understand WHY Quinn wanted to kill Lundy and wound Deb, though. What was his motive? Now that the druggie copped to all the other vacation murders, which means Quinn wasn't killing the others for cash, I don't understand why he needed to kill Lundy. The only thing it now accomplishes is that since the previews show Quinn trying to get into Dexter's business (again I don't know why he would care about Dexter), Quinn killing Lundy & wounding Deb gives Dexter a reason to kill Quin. If the writers don't come up with a good reason for Quinn killing Lundy, I am going to be pissed. They better not just be using it as an out for Dexter to kill Quinn. And I didn't enjoy the episode at all. Hate the focus on Batista/LaGuerta and I do not like Dexter's obsession with trying to learn something from Trinity. I guess they want to use this as a way to keep Lithgow around for a few more episodes, but it is not working for me at all. |

Maybe Lundy found out about Quinn's "habits" at various crime scenes. I bet that's why Quinn 'bagged' all of Lundy's stuff out of
the motel room. He was making sure to get whatever Lundy had on him. Or maybe he is secretly in love with Deb... if he did do it - it probably won't be
explained until after Dexter kills Trinity.
In a weird kind of way, I like that he is learning from Trinity. Anything that gets that bitch Rita to be the loving wife she should be. I hate this bitching all the time Rita.. I'm sick of her and her bullshit threats to Dexter every other day. I love his little smirks like the one he made when she told him he could lock it.. so cute (of course except the part where she gave him permission to lock his own shit up). |

My favorite part was at the end in therapy when Dexter said he need a place for his stuff & Rita & the therapist took it as his metaphorical baggage and he was like "My actual stuff". Had me almost Lizing |

I just don't buy that Dex would want to learn shit from the guy who almost killed his sister. He didn't waste time killing his brother when he came
after her.

McWolcott wrote:THIS! They are so different to start with. Dexter has a "code" where he only kills criminals. Trinity kills innocent people. Dexter kills in the Miami area only (excluding Lila). Trinity kills across the U.S. Dexter covers up his kills, leaving no evidence. Trinity leaves his kills to be discovered. Dexter is sane (relatively speaking). Trinity is clearly an insane freak. Dexter is good looking and someone you wouldn't mind seeing naked. Trinity is so clearly not any of that. Dexter is too smart to think he could learn something from Trinity. This whole subplot is wrong. |

Did they show Quinn taking Lundy's books? Because I missed that part.
I just remember Dex taking the recording out of the pants pocket. And Trinity. Did he kill his whole family? Or maybe just his own parents..and the sister was a suicide? Him in the tub with the wife=creepy. |

Dexter is too smart to think he could learn something from Trinity. This whole subplot is wrong. Think we've reached consensus. Especially with his brother's storyline, as McW mentioned. It's inconsistent at best. Dexter is a void. Trinity is a damaged human psyche. They're totally dissimilar. As for Quinn, I'm going back to what I thought before, that he did the shooting to get close to Deb/Dex in some weird way. I don't know about his 'love' for Deb, but I think he's trying to ingratiate himself with both. Probably just to cover his dirty cop trail, with the two he feels can nail him most. |

I think you're wrong. Dexter obviously has something to learn from Trinity. He has been a serial Killer for 30 years and has a solid home life. Dexter has
been married for less than a year and it's almost already falling apart. I think he wants to learn Trinity's secret for living both lives and then
Dexter is going to get him on his table and slice him up.
Deb is hurt but healing and in no danger for the time being. With Rudy Deb was in mortal danger, plus Dexter had given up on his past family and only cared about his current family so Rudy offered nothing for him |

i hope we won't be treated to anymore trinity and loving wifey naked in the tub. that is creepier than watching him murder someone. lithgow has always been
an odd duck, he is skeeving me out big time as trinity.

Wasn't impressed with this episode either, what is this the third show without Dex killing someone? When will Dex throw Rita's lying back at her? I can
see why her ex turned to drugs, with a nagging bitch like Rita, I can see why her husband would veer toward dope. She might be suffering from the cliched post
partum depression, in any event, I would like to see her die as soon as possible.

IMO Trinity and Dexter are alike in that they both have a dark passenger. I dont look to see or think there is anything else about them that is the same. Like
someone else posted - he is learning how to continue to hide in the open (with a family). Even he said, he had to evolve it was the only way to survive.
Above everything else, Dexter has always respected his enemie's when they are good at killing and not leaving much evidence. He likes a "worthy" enemy. It will be good to see Trinity on Dexter's table ;) It didnt show Quinn take Lundy's stuff out of the hotel. Deb told him that some of it was missing and he said it was impossible because he bagged it all HIMSELF. |

I thought we saw Dexter frantically bagging the stuff from Lundy's room.
I thought it was far fetched for Dexter to be holding the urn of Trinity's sister. I realize the story line was to get a rise out of Trinity but even a normal person would say, "What the fuck are you doing with my sister's ashes?". |

Do you think Trinity kept some of the bloody gauze from Dex' cut finger? Do the pigs search Trinity's house after he goes missing when Dex finally
kills him? He is a pillar of the community and I imagine they will have an extensive manhunt when he does turn up missing or revealed to be the serial killer
he is.

Dexter is learning about hiding in plain sight. Trinity is in fact helping Dexter evolve. I actually like Dexter learning more about humanity. It is very Mr.
Spock (Star Trek) like.
Rita is less deserving of being killed now, the rest of Dexter's Homicide squad still need to be massacred (except Masuka) |
