There was just more going on last season. This season, two people are getting the majority of the airtime, so there just isn't as much to discuss. Even
with Coach getting the airtime he got last season, we still got a lot more of other people than we are this season. It sucks ass.

This season is unentertaining Edgic wise, but I don't think that makes it a bad season. Sure, we have little to work with... but the show has been entertaining otherwise. |

Wanted to add, just to consider past history - Shambo makes the FTC and gets asked, "When you lost the fishing gear...", "When we made you
leader...", those are things that would re-emerge. Win or lose. If Shambo does win, I will flagellate myself (and take pictures) for not sticking with
it.

He was too thoughtful to be OTT, but his character has certainly flattened out to MOR if not OTT. That thoughtfulness and remorse could turn his story around. Or not. Mick MOR2   
Steady Eddie. He's absolutely flat-lined at mid-MOR. (Notice how I worked OR lingo in there?) He's got MOR visibility, but his edit is more UTR in its absolute non-commitalness. (Someone tell spellcheck that I know that's not a word.) Zero quotes. Bland bland bland. But, he's also amazingly free of anything other than little nice-guy scenes and being a part of the "spunky losers" story. In a season who's theme is "the tribal leader", he gets no dirt thrown his way for being the leader of one of the worst-performing tribes in Survivor history, (to quote Jeff.) Natalie MOR2 
She got dis'd by Russel as his "little toy" and pissed Liz off, but just as Galu has an air of negativity around them, Foania has a positive one. Her TC talk about staying strong and positive to survive summed it all up. No, not Mixed. Just MOR. Russel CPN5   
He's still got the old Russel nastiness, but his edit is complex. All his nastiness is focused on his game plan and he's full of Foa Foa fightin' spirit. We nod in agreement with him, even as we dislike his trash talk. Is he N or just "street smart"? Can someone escape an N rating when they make statements like this?: "...I have to keep Natalie for my little toy, you know. She has to be there for me, so I can manipulate her little mind and do what I want her to do..." That's beyond street smarts. That's flat out nasty. And just because we've gotten used to his talk doesn't make it any less N. At the end of the season, what will this comment look like in hindsight?: "These idiots are prob'bly gonna cost me a million dollars..." Geez, could this guy win?! Well, besides his basic OTTN core and his ultra visibility, we've got the issue that he could have a hell of a lot of burned F-2 partners at loser lodge. Notta Clu

We learn a little more about her. She's now the latest in Russel's long line of F-2 alliances. Monica MOR3   
The women are shown to be the dupes of the boys and Monica gets the confessional that shows they don't really understand what just went down. She gets to say something nice to Shambo and then gets to take the niceness away with a confessional. It's all meant to show the gender split of the "real" Galu, with Shambo the disliked and manipulated outsider. All the women have a pall of negativity around them, (duped by the vote; the tarp issue tossed in their face at the RC), but the individual edits are too bland and simple to rate a tone. Interesting that it was Monica who initiated the voting situation, giving the guys a nice innocent, "spontaneous" vote. Shambo MORN3   
Everyone at Golly knows that Shambo is the kicked puppy, except Shambo! Or maybe she's just keeping up a good face. We don't know because the edit's stopped showing her thoughts. FLF, I've noted this before but it obviously wasn't given any attention. It's a crucial issue that has to be cleared up because it changes the entire focus of Russell's speech. I don't think Russell said "I have to keep Natalie for my little toy." What I believe he said was, "I have to keep Natalie from my little toy." That slight difference changes the focus from Russell to Natalie. What he is shown to be saying is that he is aware of Natalie's ability to play a social game but that he realizes he needs to keep her away from people such as Laura (his new toy) so that he is left as the only one in a position to manipulate her. It is a very positive SPV for Natalie and that's why she merits a dynamic mixed tone.

Well Monica was ignored early but remained in the viewers sight, and then she's gotten more strategical/insightfull confessionals (in comparison to the
other UTR girls) so she could be Nessa, just less P and more N.
