I never said anything about violence or hate crimes. I only commented on gay marriage.
But as a rule I think that hate crimes are ridiculous. If I beat you up, then I beat you up. I should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, regardless of why I beat the crap out of you.
And in terms of gay marriage, I'm all for civil unions, and giving gays all the legal rights that married couples have. I just have a problem with referring to it as marriage. Sorry, I'm old-school.
