I think they all deserved to be there but if I had to choose those who I wouldn't have picked it probably would be Jenna Lewis, Shii Ann, and Rob for their
low placements. Amber, Tina, and Ethan were boring to watch their first seasons, but I like the idea of having winners on all stars seasons so I would have
wanted Tina and Ethan on. That being said I think having Jenna L., Shii Ann, Rob, and Amber on All Stars ended up being a great decision since they ended up
doing so well and were among the most entertaining individuals that season. Prior to all stars I think the most deserving people would have been Richard
Hatch, Rudy, Colby, Kathy, Rob C., Jenna M., and Rupert. This isn't counting other great characters who didn't make it like Brian, Fairplay, or
Sandra.

Most Deserved:
The Winners: Rich, Tina, Ethan, and Jenna M. They are the ulitmate all stars. Rudy and Sue- Made the show popular, memorable characters. Rob C.- great player and character Jerri and Colby- see Rudy and Sue Big Tom and Lex- see above Kathy VO- Memorable Rupert- Arguably the most popular Survivor ever. Middle: Shii-Ann- Thailand rep. Memorable character, but was a pre-jury boot Boston Rob- see above, except from Marquesas Alicia- Waved her finger, but not much else. Not: Jenna L.- annoying, useless, bad player. Amber- Only on because they NEEDED 5 people from the Outback. |

I completely forgot about Alicia. I think she is the one person I'd say who didn't deserve to be there. Maybe I could see her entertainment value
before All Stars but definitely not afterwards.

About 1/3 of the people cast could have a case made against them for why they didn't deserve to make it over someone else. (Richard, Sue, Rudy, Jerri,
Tina, Colby, Lex, Ethan, Kathy, Rob C., Jenna, and Rupert are the exceptions. Winners all should have been included, and the others were considered the best of
the best. Most entertaining and/or popular to play the game.) The only person who didn't deserve to be there based on entertainment in their original
season was Amber. She didn't really do anything in Australia other than follow Jerri, she didn't make it that far in the game compared to other
options, and the general public didn't even consider her likable. There were already 4 others from Australia, and I can think of a ton of women who
deserved to make it over her.
Jenna Lewis, while definitely the least deserving member of Pagong 5 (and I'd say of the people from Borneo who made the merge other than maybe Sean), still wasn't a dud like people make her out to be. She was extremely well liked during Borneo, she had an extremely upbeat personality that no one else on the show ever had, and her not getting her video cemented her in the hearts of most viewers. The producers could have never expected someone like her (who played with no strategy the first time) to be such a control freak/bitch the second time around. Alicia was my favorite during Australia, so she definitely deserved to be there for me. She had the fight with Kimmi that is one of, if not the most popular scene ever. She was outspoken, yet she still came off really likable, as did the rest of Kucha. Once they couldn't get Skupin or Liz, it makes complete sense why Alicia was chosen. Shii Ann and Rob M. didn't make the jury, so some do not think they should have made it in the first place, but the two of them are some of the most entertaining characters from their respective seasons. I don't know if anyone has argued against Big Tom, but it should be obvious why he was there. While I would have rather seen people like Greg, Colleen, Gervase, Frank, Teresa, Sean, Vecepia, Brian, Clay, Helen, Heidi, Fairplay, and Sandra than a few of the ones that made the cut, we have to give credit to the producers for putting together one of the best casts they could have for what should have been a great season. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out the way people hoped, but at least All Stars shows that the producers don't play a role in the game. 5urvivor wrote: |

Thailandsurvivor wrote:What contradiction? I mean yeah she gave us 1 entertaining moment from her original season but she also was only like 7th place or something so it's not like she was a must have. There are other people who were much more entertaining than her that could have been casted. So if we are basing things on entertainment then we could pick people like Lindsay or Heidi. If we are basing it on placement then lots of other people made it farther than her. At least I can understand why low placers like Rob and Shii Ann were casted. Jenna L., Alicia, and Amber not as much. I think they casted Jenna L. because of her letter, Alicia because they needed a physically strong black female, and Amber because they needed a pretty female. |

The contradiction that you can understand why she would have made it before All Stars, but after she was invited and sucked, she didn't deserve her spot.

People I would have cast 100%
Richard, Rudy, Sue, Tina, Colby, Jerri, Ethan, Lex, Big Tom, Kathy, Jenna M, Rob C, Rupert - they were all pretty big characters. Ehh Maybe? Either way really Alicia, Rob M, Jenna L, Shii-Ann - I didn't like Jenna L in ASS and probably would have been my last choice from that season, but she was from the original season and was pretty sweet the first time. Rob, Shii, and Alicia were all decent characters the first time who left early. I wouldn't have considered them. Amber Though I love Amber now <3 |

if we had to recast the whole season and I chose 20 people, this is how I'd do it:
Tribe 1: Richard (deserved) Brian Tina (deserved) Jenna (so-so... could be replaced by another winner) Sandra Tribe 2: Rupert Boneham (deserved - because he was so well "liked") Heidi Strobel Rudy Boesch (Deserved) Kathy O'Brien (Deserved) Lex van den Berghe (Deserved) Tribe 3: Jerri Manthey (Deserved) Tom Buchanan (Deserved) Colleen Haskell Sean Rector Deena Bennett Tribe 4: Colby Donaldson (Deserved) Helen Glover Rob Cesternino (Deserved) Susan Hawk (Deserved) Jon Fairplay So for this topic... on who deserved or who did not deserve... Did not deserve to be in all stars: 1. Amber 2. Rob Mariano (I consider him a second chance... to me all stars should mean they HAVE to make the jury...) *although he did play great in All Stars* 3. Jenna Lewis 4. Shi Ann (Same reason as Rob M) 5. Alicia 6. Ethan (a case could be made... but I didn't find him entertaining... he's still deserving though i guess) 7. Jenna (same as Ethan.... ) |

WINNERS
1. Richard Hatch-duh 2. Ethan Zohn-winner. Very well liked. 3. Tina Wesson-winner. The general audience wanted Colby to win though...(big fan of Tina here) 4. Jenna Morasca-hugely unpopular winner, but winner nonetheless THE FAN FAVES 5. Colby Donaldson-huge fan favorite with good gameplay 6. Rupert Boneham-see above. Way less game. GAMERS 7. Rob Cesternino-revolutionized game. Funny, memorable character. 8. Kathy Vavrick O' Brien-fan favorite with great gameplay 9. Lex van den Berghe-Good game player in a boring season. Very memorable character. DEBATEABLE 10. Susan Hawk-very memorable character. Who knew she'd be so unsuccessful at the game this time around? 11. Jerri Manthey-extremely memorable character. Must Have. 12. Tom Buchanon-Hilarious character. memorable, but weak gameplay. 13. Alicia Calaway-memorable character, with decent gameplay. 14. Amber Brkich-loved her in ASS, but just didn't deserve to be an All Star 15. Jenna Lewis-very memorable in Borneo, but didn't deserve to be an All Star 16. Rudy Boesch-love the guy, but he shouldn't have been brought back. Hugely popular, but a waste of space due to his weakness. DIDN'T DESERVE IT 17. Rob Mariano-didn't make jury. Entertaining, but not necessarily deserving. 18. Shii Ann Huang-solely there as a semi-popular Thailand rep. (even though I was a big fan... |

Thailandsurvivor wrote:I understand why she made it before All Stars I just think they could've picked somebody better. Again I think all of the contestants were deserving but I think if I had been picking my top 18 I don't think Alicia, Amber, or Jenna L. would be on my lists unless they were substitutes. Which I guess they might have been anyways. |

Besides the obvious (Amber, Jenna, maybe Alicia, Rob M), I don't think I would have selected all of the Boran Boys Club. I just rewatched Africa and was surprised by what an ass Lex already was. Not only the Kelly-debacle, but also the way he attacked Tom at the final four. I probably would've kicked him off and had Teresa replace one of the three women and have Fairplay as replacement of another girl. The other fourteen all deserved to be there, imo. |

For the most part, SEG made their best effort in casting the first All Stars. They had a good deal of difficulty with the casting of women because Colleen,
Elisabeth, Heidi and Sandra all declined and Neleh was dropped because she wouldn't wear a 2 piece bathing suit for religious reasons. Because of the
difficulty with casting younger females, they chose Alicia, Shii-Ann (as the sole Thailand rep.), Jenna Lewis and Amber. Personally, I would have substituted
Kelly G. for Amber but Amber is more attractive. I would have liked to have seen Helen instead of Shii-Ann but they already had one middle-aged female per
tribe. Arguably, Vecepia could replace Alicia but it's likely that she would have been ignored by the editors again because avoiding drama does not make
for good TV. Given the situation, I would have cast Kelly G. instead of Amber and kept the other 8 women.
Also, it is rumored that Brian Heidik wanted an appearance fee that would financially make it "worth his while". In other words, he wanted to be paid enough in advance so that he would make more than he would typically earn in 7 weeks. So, Brian is out. Jonny Fairplay wasn't considered because SEG didn't realize how large a reaction that he would get from the viewers. He was cast for Fans vs. Favorites and that turned out to be a mistake. That brings us the single main and inexplicable casting injustice and that is that Sean Rector, one of the best characters in the first 6 seasons, should have been cast instead of Rob Mariano. I suppose that Mariano got the spot because of his potential to bring sex (and he did deliver) to the season and that is something that Sean would not have done. The other 8 male spots were all deserved. Unfortunately Rupert bumped Mike S. at the last minute. |
