Official SURVIVOR IDEAS/TWISTS

One Idea I have for a future season (and I already advocated once a "HERO'S VS VILLAINS" season which they seem to be doing)..... SURVIVOR vs other REALITY TV SHOWS In this case, we take a team of Survivor's, those that are synonomous with the show Survivor (and to make sure we get better representation, it will be 5 people selected from seasons 1-10 and 5 people from seasons 11-20), and they go up against a team of Reality Show competitors from other reality shows that are out there. Now, to be sure, CBS is probably only going to allow CBS/VIACOM affiliated shows, which means UPN/THE CW; MTV, SPIKE TV, some others are the ones that will probably be considered. Or maybe not....it is possible that Burnett could get people from THE APPRENTICE or THE CONTENDER to do the show. If American Idol people were to want to do this, that too would be something to consider. I MIGHT do a tribe, where you have 8 former Survivors, 8 Reality TV show contestants, and a team of 4 former Survivor Winners/4 other reality TV show winners, on 3 tribes.

Posts: 635 (08/30/09 12:32 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts	That is a horrible idea, but what I would like to see (maybe also equally horrible) would be these 2 ideas Have exile island (which I think we are stuck with), but leave the viewers in suspense, have someone in like episode 6 find the idol, but the box is empty, the viewers don't know who has the idol, keep the suspense going, and when the idol is finally played, have the person pull it out, then immediately flash foward to a 30 second clip of them finding the idol, would lead to a surprising episode, and some cool editing I would hope. This will also cut down on screen time dedicated to so and so has the idol, so and so may use it, im going to look in their bag. I'd like a 20 person season, 2 tribes of 10, when there are 15 players left (ideally 8 vs. 7) have a reward challenge, one tribe wins, then competes in a second challenge for an even better reward (overnight adventure), the winner gets to pick 2 people from each tribe (if they are from the 8 person tribe, if they are from the 7, they pick 3 from the 8 and 1 from the 7) leaving us with 3 tribes of 5, they go on their overnight reward and are returned to a new beach (shock!), given white buffs (yay white buffs!) and compete like that until the merger (preferably at 11)

Another idea I have been tinkering with is "Special Immunity powers". First off, I think one change I would make immediately is that the Immunity Necklace can ALWAYS be sacrificed for an additional vote, but it has to be announced as soon as the person has returned from voting. The person, if he wants a second vote, goes and votes and then when he returns, announces to Jeff Probst he wants to sacrifice Immunity for a second vote. It would be like if you present the hidden immunity, where votes that were cast for you don't count. In this case, people can still vote for you even if you have Immunity, but if you dont' give it up, they don't count. This will have the following effects- A) If the person genuinely does not want to give up Immunity for the vote, he doesn't. B) but if he lets it be known he might do that, then people have the option now of voting for that person. C) If the person gives up immunity and then votes, the votes that are already cast stay in....if people that have yet to vote want to change up, they can, but it will be what it is. Thoughts?

If a castaway feels like they're safe in the game, and doesn't need immunity, they can forego the challenge and have a nice meal with their loved one. However, if a castaway decides to participate in the challenge, they must forego the meal, and participate in a gross food challenge with the following twist... their loved one must also participate. If only one castaway decides to participate in the challenge and all others decide to have a meal with their loved ones, then there would be a second twist... that sole castaway would automatically get immunity and would not have to participate in the challenge at all (they wouldn't get to eat... good meal... or gross meal... and must say goodbye to their loved one). Another twist I would like to see would involve a reward challenge and Exile Island. It would happen late in the game. Before the reward challenge takes place, Jeff would announce that whoever gets sent to Exile Island would take with them a sealed envelope that must remain sealed until the person reaches Exile Island. Once there, the exiled castaway would open the envelope, pull out a note, and begin reading aloud. Here's where the twist would occur. The exiled castaway would have the option of remaining on Exile Island to look for the idol... or be helicoptered to a nice resort where they and a loved one (who is waiting at the resort) would be pampered and get to spend the night together. If they choose to go to the resort, there would be another surprise waiting there... a brand new car!

Its shocking that after 18 seasons they still haven't merged earlier than 10, particularly with all the seasons with over 16 people. No part of a season sucks more than the last few before a merge, particularly when there are 18-20 people.

Posts: 444 (08/31/09 7:31 PM) I love ShiiAnn Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Here is how I would handle the "Family Member Visit Twist"...... 1) Each contestant receives TWO Family Members when they arrive. 2) Jeff Probst announces that there is a MAJOR twist coming for the team that wins. The Contestants sit down for the challenge, it is competed on by their family members. 3) Once the challenge is over, Jeff shows the two rewards. Reward #1 is for EVERYONE save the winning team. Reward #1 is a large bbq/banquet feast for X amount of time where all the family members and their Survivor contestants partake in save for the team that actually won. That reward/twist is this: the Survivor that won, he and one of his loved ones will go on vacation now, and are "out" of the game for that time. Jeff tells the person that he and ONE family member will be gone and that the Survivor will be returned to their camp as soon as Tribal Council for that week is over. And thus, for all intents and purposes, that Survivor has immunity. But the winner has to leave one of his family members "in the game". In that, that one family member stays with the tribe, returns to camp. He will compete in the Immunity Challenge and will go to Tribal Council and vote. He leaves as soon as Tribal Council is over. The twist's impacts are huge. Obviously for the Survivor, he has immunity. But his "family member" now has to remain in the game. He has to figure out for himself exactly what alliance his family member was in. (I am sure if it is a close game , there will be a lot of people that will gladly give the contestant 'their' version of what their loved one was doing in the game). If he win's immunity, he can deny it to anyone or can grant it to someone since he will not stay long anyway. And regardless, he still gets to vote in that Tribal Council. Hopefully he figures out where is loved one's alliance was at. But imagine, if he gets duped into voting a way that their loved one absolutely WOULD NOT have wanted?

By that, the challenge is done, and Contestant A has won immunity. He comes forward and instead of Jeff giving him the necklace, he shows him a board that has 8 different necklaces. Probst announces that all of them grant the standard "Immunity to the vote" that we are used to. But he say's they also have extra additional powers, that he can tell everyone what they are as soon as he opens it, or he can wait till TC and let Jeff do it. The "Extra powers" would include..... *The IC winner vote now counts for two (when he goes into vote he votes twice) the IC WInner can extend his immunity to someone else, protecting him and one other from the vote. The IC WInner picks one person that is still 'in the game'. That person DOES NOT get to vote in that TC, but can still be voted out. *The IC winner can pick, after everyone else has voted, picks one person that is already out of the game and on the Jury. That juror member, based on what they have heard at TC, gets to go in and vote like if he were still in the game, to vote someone out.

They could have a challenge where everyone is in a lobster trap and the last to get out gets boiled. Quidd's the only one with a sensible idea.

Posts: 493 (09/14/09 10:30 PM) I love ShiiAnn Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Ray Romano of EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND has said as recently as a few month's ago that he has applied to EVERY season of Survivor since season 2. I would imagine a guy that made $6million per episode is a little above what they want on Survivor, but still. In theory a team of Survivor Winners vs a team of Celebrities is still feasible, especially if it is for Charity. I think in theory a SURVIVOR- SECOND CHANCERS, where people that did not make the Merge in their first runs, are all brought back. I would enforce a strict number of slots for different era's of Survivor. Let's say this was done for season 24, for example, there would be X amount of slots for seasons 1-7; X amount of slots for seasons 8-16, and X amount of slots for seasons 17 and on. This time around, we cast ONLY people that have shown a capacity for manipulation and gamesmanship that exceeds all others. While there are many survivor champions that probably make this list immediately (Hatch, Bryan H, etc), we can also open this up to people like Will Kirby and people from other Reality Shows that have shown the capacity for manipulations, mind games, etc, etc in their respective shows/seasons. If this were done, I imagine CBS would still probably restrict it to CBS/VIACOM affilliated shows, what do you all think?
