They wanted her to do country and she turned them down to pursue her own stuff If we're defining rockers by what they audtion with or sing on the show, then Amanda's the first real girl rocker on the show. You can't get any more rock than to audition with a Janis Joplin song, and her singing Kansas, Joan Jett, and The Beatles on the show adds to her rock cred. Unlike Nikki, who auditioned with a Whitney song, and I wouldn't consider "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" to be rock by any stretch of the imagination

Well that's not what I would do. A "rocker" is a "rocker" off-stage, and off/after the show, as well. It's an attitude, even a way of life. I wanted to go with "Bye Bye Birdie" but Springette #1 wanted ROA because she 'loves the 80's". Naturally I indulged her because that's what Moms do (especially Moms who's kids live across the country). I'll have to catch "Hair" another time, maybe over Christmas holidays with the youngest. DO they still get nekkid? The fam and I are going up for the day on the Saturday after and I expect the Springies will make their usual beeline to the H&M on Fifth, followed by a quick lunch, the show and then dinner somewhere. It's amazing how one can spend a week's vacation in one day in NYC.
