Watched the premiere, and I too was so happy to see someone finally get their walking papers. Last season it was always an empty threat, but BAM she was gone. I hope that continues. The preview for next week episode makes it look even more drama-filled than this week's episode.

I did notice that the salon "remodel" wasn't nearly as drastic as they were last season. Aside from the basement getting cleaned up and a few minor corrections on the main level what did they do?

They took out the frosted cheap-n-cheesy plexiglass-of-doom walls that defined the main floor bathroom and replaced them with.. with.. I dunno. Some weird looking crap masquerading as "walls". Same type of material was also used to create walls for Eddie's office and the employee's break room. Personally, I hated the shit. Looked a tad too "industrial strength plastic" for my tastes. As if that type of material was specifically chosen simply because of it's ability to be cleaned by spraying it with a high pressure hose.

Tabatha did say the crew spent two of the three days just cleaning so that didn't leave very much time for redesigning / restructuring.
They at least got rid of that nasty stained couch (the one they loved featuring so prominently during the commercial preview).
