Those fuckers were being less than gentlemanly in the parking lot, to be expected from JD's dad, but Wade too? And why the hell would they have needed the ghost mailbox address when Dillon was the only school in town? The Lions sensiness over the forfeit was a little over the top. Grumbling yes, but collectively refusing to show up for practice? Nice to see Landry emboldened by having Tyra's fingerprints on his butt. I thought that Merrriwether chick looked more latina than black though. So I guess we've now got a black school vs. a white school in full conflict. That's kind of lame in this day and age, and I hope this season doesn't descend into a race conflict. BTW I hope you all realize that the floozy bartendress that Riggins is boinking is longtime gingergoddess Alicia Witt.

I'm glad that the season so far seems to have a real focus and not a lot of silliness (I'm still scarred by landy & tyra in S2). I was worried about adding new characters, but so far it they seem to be doing it logically, and the new characters have me interested. I also like the way they've been handling Matt and Tim still being in Dillon and looking for direction (I'm guessing they'll both end up as asst coaches?). I'm so glad this show is still around, and it's a shame that a show this good isn't on broadcast TV. But I suppose there's no room on the schedule, considering all the great shows on NBC . . . . (I didn't recognize Alicia Witt in epi1, but saw her name this time in the credits. She seems to have gone from teenage tart to floozy mom awfully quick, but maybe I'm just getting old!)

Its a little overwhelming at how much work needs to be done to this team. But I know they can do it! I like Luke. I was glad he burned his West Dillion shirt! The art guy is supposed to be a Mr Miyagi type person to Matt? Yay for more Gracie Bell! I absolutely love Tammi Taylor! She rocks!

Matt's storyline is my least favo but even it is amazing. I loved watching this show commerical free. It gets me 100 times more into the episode then I would be if we were stuck with 5 minute commericals. Luke and Vince <3 Tami Taylor <3333333333333333 Buddy <3<3<3 It seems kind of random but I miss Mama Smash, maybe we should see in the supermarket soon????

This was another great eppy. Tammy Taylor is the bomb. I want her to be my best friend. :) She and Coach are such a great couple. Love how they work things out instead of screaming and yelling. Luke is a sweet kid. I felt so bad for him when Tammy gave him the bad news. Then he apologized to her for lying to her! He's way too nice to be a Panther anyway. Not that he's any better suited to being a thug on the Lions, but fuck the Panthers. I'm hoping that we'll see that douche JD get his at some point. God, he's a skumbag. I have to say, the daughter of Tim's hookup is really annoying me. I don't like her at all. Maybe she'll grow on me.

Spoiler [+] Question: The season premiere of Friday Night Lights almost had me in +%#!@. Are things going to get better for the East Dillon Lions? -Nena Ausiello: I'll say this: The game they were shooting last month when I visited the set was not nearly as lopsided as the massacre you witnessed in the premiere. And it definitely didn't end in forfeit. You may want to keep a hanky handy though. There's an episode coming up that will have you crying like a teething baby without a piece of plastic to bite down on. (Hint: Said episode features a funeral.) Will it be Matt's Grandma? Say it isn't so!

Mike Leach with all of his pirate stuff was hilarious, but when I think about how he really believes all that stuff in real life I think he might be just a little bit crazy. I like how coach is still visiting his players homes, some of my favorite moments happened when he did this. The mailbox might have been used before to get players from smaller towns into a bigger football program. My brother and I were just discussing this while watching a huge rivalry game, the quarterback for the other team moved from a tiny town so he could play for a bigger program and get more attention from colleges.

To the person that asked, Julie probably gets to pick which school she goes to because she has parents working at both schools. I knew this to be the case with several of my friends in middle school/high school. Love the Tami vs. Joe McCoy stuff. And I have a feeling it won't be long before Buddy becomes a Lions' booster...

Thanks for the heads up. Great show, as usual. I remember Jurnee acting on shows when she was just a child. She's grown into a pretty woman. Loved when Tami got back at JD and Wade at the restaurant. Telling the rest they might lose their rings. I was lol at that. I'm not really liking the Becky girl either, and I got a feeling she's going to be Tim's love interest eventually. And Alicia Witt is playing her mom? Is she really old enough? Hmm, I'm probably just getting old myself. I always loved her as Zoe on Cybill Shepherd's show. Loving Vince so far. I guess his mom is a drug addict. Would love to see Mama Smash, too, as many have said.

So presuming the daughter is 16, the math's right if she got knocked up at 18, which isn't a stretch for this character. I'm sure they're using makeup to age her upwards a little, too. I'd never heard of Mike Leach until mentioned above, thinking that was the strangest encounter Coach Taylor ever had -- I wondered if was going to lead to a fight or something. To save you all the googling, he's the coach at Texas Tech, located in Lubbock (remember the way he asked for directions to Lubbock?), and apparently has a thing for pirates. He sounds like a real character, and cool to have him onboard for a cameo. Many thanks -- delighted to now have that scene in perspective.

I think that's cool since they're filming in Texas, and the scene made more sense once I found that out. Apparently other college football coaches have previously made cameos.

And if I remember correctly, there was a stud QB from the first or second season, and when they showed his high school highlights, they were actually using Vince Young's high school highlights. Landry is after Tom Landry, and I'm guessing the new character Vince is for Vince Young (high school and college football legend, pro not so much). Even though I don't really watch the show for the football I love how it includes little bits of real life football references.

But then I thought they already forfeited those games he was involved in. Hell, I don't remember that far back. I'm old. It was especially sweet to see Tammi cockblock JD's daddy again. Damn, boy! When are you going to learn? Don't ever. EVER! Fuck with Tammi. I had no problem with the sensy East Dillion Lions. Them children are pussies. Especially Lance. He's the biggest pussy of them all. But now that East Dillon has no uniforms to play in? Perhaps the female and gae viewership will increase. Now all y'all got me to thinking.
