Was Cook Islands a great season or not?

After Vanuatu Probst did a ranking where he listed his favorite seasons in order. 1. Borneo 2. Australia 3. Pearl Islands 4. All-Stars 5. Amazon 6. Vanuatu 7. Africa 8. Marquesas 9. Thailand I think Sucks would switch All-Stars and Marquesas, but in general everyone here thinks Borneo, Australia, and Pearl Islands are the gold standard. After All-Stars, though, there was a shift. Probst and the casual fans really loved Palau, Cook Islands, and Micronesia. Probst also adored Tocantins and put it in his top five, while he considers Guatemala and Gabon also-rans (even though those are much more highly regarded here). I think the only consensus between casual fans and Sucks recently has been Micronesia, which almost everyone loved, and Fiji, which almost everyone hated. He did not think that China was an also-ran. Probst has not stated an opinion for Samoa since he knows that the public disagreed with his assessments of Gabon and Tocantins.

Too many useless castaways, too many finalists, too many jurors, too many crappy rules etc. Looking back, I actually think Fiji was way better. Cook Islands was just average or crappy al the way through. Fiji was crappy, but then had some awesomeness from Edgardo's boot episode onwards. I consider Fiji to be the 16th best season whilst Cook Islands is far and away 19th.

I tried to find the quote where he said he thought China was an also-ran but I remembered wrongly. He had been talking about Gabon. He really was confused about Tocantins. He thought that would be the next Pearl Islands, and was shocked when fans liked Gabon way more. I do think he always had pretty mild feelings about Guatemala, though (which is probably why we haven't seen a Guatemala player play for a second time).

Also it had the lamest string of twists ever and is the closest a season has been to being RIGGED!11!!1!!1!1!!1!1! If the Raro's had rightfully dominated resulting in a Candice/Parv top two it would be awesome though. Even with the disasterous ending the season still managed to have 5 amazing episodes; -episode 2 (billy boot) -episode 8 (mutiny + brad boot) -episode 9 (rebecca and jenny boot) -episode 10 (merge + nate boot) -episode 11 (candice boot) then it went downhill very fast.

I actually prefer pre-merge CI to post-merge CI, because the first episode was truly epic (I loved them fleeing the boat) but then it just went on FOREVER. I mean, Cook Islands just feels 45x longer than any other season for me. So many people, so many UTR/INV players, stupid Exile/HII drama (which also choked Panama/EI), massive Jury, and the insufferable Aitu 4. Oh, and Parv hacking off her hand. </3 I typically can't go beyond Cristina's boot ep, otherwise I just start to get bored and end up with seething hatred for CI. It's definitely one of my least favorite seasons.
