Given: Not all terrorists are muslims and not all muslims are terrorists. Sure muslims can point to certain parts in their holy book to justify things like
9/11 and suicide bus bombings in Israel, but not all that long ago christians were using their holy book to justify some seriously screwed up practices and
policies as well. Muslims and christians alike also point to other parts of their holy books to justify being peaceful and loving.
Given: Of the three Abrahemic religions, islam is the most violent today when taken as a whole. Sure there are some wacko christians who blow up abortion clinics, but over all you're a hell of a lot more likely to get violent demonstrations and scathing vitriol out of muslims from a rumor about a koran in a toilet than you are from christians about a very real crucifix in a jar of very real piss.
Theory: All three brother religions seem to be following the same course. First as a persecuted group, then as a vicious and bloodthirsty band of maniacs, then a long, slow cooling off period after which they end up being decent members of human civilization. The j00z started out as slaves of the Egyptians. Then they went tear assing all over Israel taking land from others and killing everything in sight, including livestock, except virgin girls which they'd take home as slaves. They've since chilled out and don't do anything more than defend their homeland these days. Christians started out being fed to the lions in the Coliseum. Eventually they were decimating the heathurn in foreign lands in the name of their god of love. They don't do that any more and are content to irritate people by ending with "have a blessed day" on their answering machines. Muslims too started out persecuted and had to fight tooth and nail for their very existance. They too gained power and went on the warpath for quite a long while. And while a large portion of them are still a pretty touchy bunch, they're nowhere near as bad as they once were. The j00z came first, then the christians, then the muslims. Starting up last, they're running behind their brothers chronologically speaking and are still in their cooling off phase. Give 'em a few hundred more years and they'll be as docile as the other two.
