So when you state that Christians are using the Bible as the jumping off point for performing various heinous acts throughout history, I disagree, and ask if you can point to those sections in the Bible that would lead you to believe this as a "Given". Preferable New Testament passages, especially in relation to Christians. |

the evolution of christianity/judaism into (relatively) peaceful stuff cannot be seperated from the evolution of western civilization as a society, and their
enlightment.
the arabs and african nations have not yet had that enlightment stage - once they get that, they'll modify Islam to fit the new-agey concept too. We have such examples today of muslims, only they're considered far left radicals. In a few decades, they'll be the common ones. |

unfortunately most christians didn't stick with the new testament, but went back to the old one for inspiration, hence the homophobia, killing of infidels
(read the history of the crusades), the inquisition in Spain, the killing of the Hugonauts (sp?) in France, and the justification for treating non whites as
animals

True, I didn't cite ones from the New Testament. The Old Testy is where most of the wrath seems to come from, but you can't exclude the Old T. from
consideration because that is one-half of Christianity.
