I do regularly give out gift cards, but LOL at folks saying it's better than cash. Cash is cash. Gift cards are cash that you can only use at one place.

Cash is much better than a gift card. I hate shopping. At Christmas after I have already shopped for hours and hours for other people I have had enough, then I
receive gift cards for Christmas and my birthday. So then I am obligated to shop more and end up buying something for more than the gift card is worth so have
to pay extra. bleh

Gift cards are better because it sort of forces you to buy a gift for yourself. Cash just ends up becoming extra spending money that you spend on nothing in
particular.

I have at least 5 if not 10 giftcards laying on my dresser and some have been there for well over a year maybe 2 ....

Depends - I have a couple of people who are almost impossible to buy for. Sometimes it's best to get them a card to a store they really love. But I usually
buy a little something from the store to go with it, and then put it together in a creative way

The only thing that annoys me about giftcards is the fact that I can never get the exact amount/close to what the card is actually worth. I can't tell you
how many gift cards I have lying around with like 5 dollars on them.

I would rather have gift cards from certain people. My smother, for example, thinks that quantity is greater than quality when it comes to Christmas gifts, so I end up with a bunch of crap I didn't want or need that she bought because of how much she saved. I would rather have one great gift I really wanted, or the cash/gc equivalent instead, thank you. To me, the best gifts are the things you really want, but won't or can't spend the money on yourself. |

MY sister likes to do this thing where she sends a gift yes ..but no thats not enough. so she'll also send a little Christmas craft thing like a reindeer
box or snowman stocking and fills them with giftcards and lottery scratchoffs and shit . so in her case she uses them as a bonus gift .

The only problem with the Visa gift card is they charge to use it, so for instance, if you get one for $50 you can only use like $46 or something.
I'd rather just have the cash. |

I love them for clothing stores because I can go to the store and pick out what I want and try it on there to make sure it fits. Better than getting some
hideous shirt that doesn't fit from a distant relative.
