It's not a terrorist act, not the way they're describing it now. It's a classic batshit-crazy spree killing.

Yeah, that's not new info.
This whole thing (that info included) sounds like just what I said- a classic batshit-crazy spree killing. He was unhappy and desperate and pissed about his treatment and afraid to go to war. He lost it. He has more in common with the Luby's massacre guy than with terrorists. Every crazed spree has reasons, things building up inside that lead up to the day when they snap, be it religion or women problems or job problems. |

I'd be more consider it a terrorist act if he had help, or someone pushed him to do it from a religious angle
I wouldn't have called Lee Harvey Oswald a terrorist, just a crazy man |

He was going to be on a FOB doing the exact same thing that he was doing back here but in theater. I do think that someone dropped the ball in not getting this guy kicked out because of his vocal anti-american beliefs. |

And he chose to continue his education on the governments dime.Yes, and apparently he thought he was entitled to buy his way out of his obligation. Going to USU for med school is a serious committment. If you go right after college you will be in until your mid- to late- thirties, period. Be prepared or don't sign up for your free MD. With that said, I agree there needs to be an ejection seat for those who wash out. Not everyone will get through med school, and this guy sounds like he needed a lot of help getting through. They should've assigned him to some fringe base and let him do physicals or else booted him out. |

There's a lot of issues involved. For one thing, mental health pros have to be diligent about their own mental health; they hear a lot of crazy shit from
some disturbed people on a daily basis. I'm guessing this guy trusted religion more than the science he was trained in.
Also, if soldiers were a little worried about their fellow soldiers who are Muslim before this happened, how does this not make things worse? And we need the help of people who are familiar with the languages and customs of the middle east while we are involved in wars over there. That may be his greatest accomplishment, creating a worse environment for Muslim soldiers and lowering our military effectiveness because of it. |

The conspiracy theorists are suggesting that the Ft. Hood attack was a setup by the shadow government to get some anti-moozlim sentiment stirred up. |
