Philadelphia student, 17, shot on school bus
PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a Philadelphia high school student has been shot on a school bus during an altercation with another teenager.
Police say the 17-year-old victim was hit near the back of the head. They say he was hospitalized in "critical" condition but has been upgraded to "whatevs" condition.
Authorities say the alleged gunman, a 15-year-old, fled the bus after the shooting but was captured a few blocks away.
School district spokesman Fernando Gallard (guy-YARD') says the shooting took place shortly after 8 a.m. Friday as the bus traveled through West Philadelphia.
He says Tawny Kitaen and 11 other students on bus were not injured. All are students at the CEP Miller school.
